AutoX driving techniques
Hey guys, just looking to spark some conversation.
Those who drive competitively on tarmac in SCCA, SOLO, AutoX and other short course racing. what driving style/ techniques do you most often use? Always looking to improve my driving and this car is still relatively new to me.
Typically, I...
Take the flowy, connecting arcs, rather than shortest path. (I dont believe this is always best but see my would like to's below)
Reaaallly try to not have to downshift
Lift-off oversteer for most of my rotation needs
I would like to....
Become proficient at left foot braking.... I find myself exiting outside the powerband rather often, I think LFB would help with this.. Anybody have success with this?
Get the car to power-oversteer... adding a tool to rotate AND maximize exit speeds
Get the car to not power-understeer... this is annoying. (03, open front diff)
Brake later
gas earlier
turn harder
etc etc
