New Evo 8/9 custom carbon fiber trunklid

Just wanted to pop in and show off a new lid I had made. This one is triaxial carbon fiber. Super high quality, all carbon, super light but structurally strong AF for use with a wing.

Not a huge fan of the weave, but it looks high quality.

Definitely a love it or hate it thing. Reminds me of Qbert from the 80’s. He also does hexcell, spread tow, standard twill, camo carbon, whatever the individual wants. The hexcell looks killer.

MPH Marsh Powerhouse Fab. His logo and the Mitsubishi diamond is also ghosted into the finish on the backside. You can see it in the video I attached. His stuff is definitely top notch, I would dare to say better than any off-the-shelf piece you would get from Voltex or even Seibon dry carbon.

Does this guy make full CF hoods for the Evo 8/9? And if so, is the fitment like stock on those?

In regards to what? Are you just referring to the carbon weave pattern? That’s all customer choice of course.

It can vary considerably depending on the weave you choose. The triaxial is 5-10x the cost of standard twill and is currently on backorder. You’d have to msg Joel at MPH but I’d assume between $900 and $1300 depending on your options.

He can and probably would if a customer wanted to pay for it and to donate a hood to make a mold from. Just check out his IG page to see results. Everything I’ve seen is top notch and perfect fitment. He even has titanium latch hardware available as an option for some of his stuff.

I have not weighed this yet but other trunks he’s done come in around the 5-7# range. I’ll try to get a solid number for you.

MPH says it would be $950 plus shipping for standard carbon. Extra for spread tow, hex cell, camo, or triax of course.

This is one is 6# 5oz. Standard weave would be just under 6#.

If it's legitimately a 16.5lb difference and can hold up to pressure of a wing, I'm definitely interested.
