I just found out yesterday that Goodyear came out with a new Eagle F1 called the 3R that's the newest competitor in 100tw. They make a 275 for 18" wheels too

I was JUST looking at that lol. It may not fit the template on a 10" but most likely will on a 9.5". 425hp is ....VERY tempting lol. My concern with them is the terrible reputation in the wet. I raced on R1S's in the rain and had no problems at 5-6 10th's and thats 0 grooves. Most likely inexperienced guys sayin that.

I'm not familiar with the F1 at all but people seem to think this is the new hotness. I'm tempted to buy a set but that contingent on ruling for the ruling of next year's Gridlife season.

Hey Guys,

I'm preparing my car for ST4/TT4 in the Nor Cal region for 2019 and have some questions about tire size and tire type and BTM aero, As of right now this is what I have.Weight with driver : 3,311
Power : 285hp 293tq
Rims : 18x10.5
Tires : 275/35/18 Nitto NT01’s
Front Aero : Front Splitter 4inch from front bumper
Rear Aero : Single element rear wing with 8inch up rights
Trans : Stock
Drivetrain : AWD

With that being said would it be smart for me to run smaller rim and tire size to give me the best possible advantage?
As far as BTM aero and Mod factor what should I be looking out for that's going to hurt my over all power to weight ratio of 12.00:1

Thanks Guys!!

Isn’t that the OEM tire for the ZL1 1LE?

I believe it is. I know it's the stock tire for some Camaro so yea it's probably that one.

Shot my friend a text that's a test engineer for GM/Cadillac who's driven the ZL1 1LE on their proving grounds a ton. He had nothing but good things to say about the 3R tires. Also looks like they were able to crank out a 7:16 around the ring which is only 3 seconds off the C7 Z06 making it the 20th fastest production car around that track.

There a lot of 4's in norcal? Hurts to have a X with that low of power to haul it's lard *** lol. The first problem you'll have is the 275 nt01 on a 10.5 likely will not fit the template, but if it does great. If you run TT you can jump down to a 266mm tire and get the .6 back as some others here have done. However expect to not run more then 2-3 laps max before you shread said tire due to temp. If you do ST4 you'll need the widest tire possible to take the abuse. Taking the BTM fator isn't a terrible idea if it didn't delete the rear wing but it's track dependent. Here in the southeast there's lots of high speed sweepers with concrete collectors so I'm not a fan of deleting said wing lol.

We'll have to see if they fork up a contingency for it like they did the RC1 back when.

So did they post the official 2019 rules? Did I miss that this weekend? Did they modify any of the drivetrain modifiers or just put the AWD cars at even more of a disadvantage with the 4 door modifier gone? Doesn't really matter to me because I am going ST4 racing in a Honda, E36 M3, or a C5 next year anyways. Converting the Evo over to a full Gridlife Street Mod build.

Yes, it's on the nasaproracing page. Eh, as you and others said before, they took the 4 door out because the e36/e46 monkey's complained between their own chassis setups. It's not a huge deal though if you step back and think about it. It's us on 275's Vs the porsche's and vette's on 315's. Pound for pound it comes down to corner exit speed which we'll still take thanks to the efforts of Dallas and the rest. And praying for rain. Can't quite explain the look on their faces as you lap the field when it's wet.

As for GL, in your chassis the way it's prepped I'd opt for trackmod so that I could run in multiple series. 255's at 200tw just means you need a million hp and it's right back to who's got the $, not the skill.

Interesting way to look at it but not sure I agree. Competitive TM guys run 550-650whp, have a good amount of aero, and there's no width limit on tires so most guys run at least a 295.

Basically the way the Evo was meant to be built. Going into these "slower" classes is like putting a condom on king kong. It's trying too hard to be something it's not. In terms of safety it's way safer to have 500 hp on 295 R compounds then it is 255 "summer" tires.

My general beef with GL is they put SO much emphasis in spending the $ on the car and not the driver. There are about a dozen maybe less TT drivers in there that can strap into any car and push it just as hard without wrecking of the 100's participating.

There is a huge amount of competition in TT4 in Nor Cal. The car with me in it is about 3311 lbs with full tank (still a pig). Yes I'm planning on make the switch to a 9.5 rim with a 245mm Hoosier R7 to be able to have the best possible advantage. Yes I will keep the aero helps a ton (pun intended) a lot of sweepers fast sweepers and walls so I want to keep thing planted for sure.

^^ TRUTH. biggest bank acct wins. In most cases car is driving driver not driver is driving car.
