Anyone running the Weds TC105X in 18x10???

Hi all,

Has anyone run the Weds TC105X in an 18x10 +35 variant on their Evo 8/9? My main question is if a spacer is needed up front or not!

Thanks!

It sounds like they will work without using spacers as an FYI to anyone interested in them!

My Switzerland friend uses them and needs just a small amount of spacer up front to clear tire to shock.

That sounds good!

I got rid of the Ohlins and went with the Reinharte triples, so we'll see how big of a spacer I might need. (Running 6 in springs with tenders)

Let me know how they work for you. I think Im going to need to swap out the Flags at some point because I need the spring higher for tire clearance. Flags basically lose me 19mm of clearance which I can tolerate on 285s but not on 315 or 335s.

Will do! I think it's going to be quite close, but time will tell soon. It's too cold here for me to work on my car with the temps being in the single digits.

I was debating between the MCS doubles and Penske singles. For the price of these, I figured I'd give them a shot! I've also read and seen a lot of good reviews about these (more so with the track oriented crowd). But speaking with TF Works, they listened to what I wanted out of the car and think this will be a good setup for what I want to accomplish.

I went with the following optional parts:
VDP (Double digressive pistons)
Aluminum casings
Adjustable caster/camber plates
800lb/1000lb spring rates to get me started
Custom valving

I'm hoping with the option to adjust high speed compression, that I'll have the ability to make the car handle some of the bumps on our semi-rough, local lot. I'm also hoping that they'll have enough adjust-ability to drive from here to Lincoln to then autox down there as well without trailering it.

Can you PM me what you paid? I dont need some of the options you got (springs or caster plates) and probably only go double adjustable.

Yes sir! Message sent about price!

I forgot the mention on top of the price I sent you:

VDP pistons were $380
Aluminum casings (only the threaded portion of the body) is $340

Longer controls arms = wheel tighter to hub but longer travel on all other parts

It...seems....like the right WHEEL is the real solution? Or is it really our grocery getter's skinny geometry.

There is no real different in bearing load using a 15mm offset or 35mm offset and 20mm spacer. The bearing itself is going to see the same load regardless. So its definitely a balance of spaces and clearance.

I going to test this year to see if the car likes a longer arm or longer spacer by running it one way in the morning and other in the afternoon. Both ways have compromises so it'll come down to which end up being more important. My gut says the shorter arm and greater scrub will make the car happier steady state but less responsive than lower scrub.

Might not be much help but I just mounted the 18x9.5 +35s. I have plenty of clearance on the stock Brembos and even clear the stock struts with lowering springs, but only running a 265/35.
