Oil Pressure drop right hander question

The oil pan doesn't touch the down pipe. I can hold my hand next to the down pipe with the car running and don't feel much heat.

Radiant heat is non-existent with airflow...
Kyoo made a very bold statement that "every CT9a should have this done" yet he has no data to support it and plenty of cars without it (including mine) run around without oil temp issues.

I was recently reminded about the issues KAJ's fabricator had with old oil pans...
I am overhauling friends E9 and the sump was usually rusty..
So I cut it out and decided to do a 1 litre larger oil sump with a simple baffle... this is not track car... rather a fast road car on stock sized tires..
Now, the issue is wleding, especially if you do not cut off the whole bottom half of the pan. The pan is made of two sheets of steel, probably zinc plated, and it is real easy to burn trough it and it doesnt like to weld. This is especially evident on the bottom section that has the most rust and oil contamination... even after cleaning.
So I made the new section and welded that with TIG but to attach it to the old part of the pan I used TIG brazing technique and it worked a treat..
Simple baffle that controls the oil movement under braking and nicely leads oil back to the pickup in right hand corners..

I've had people that didn't get one of my pans complain about it being brazed. All these years and mine is doing just fine.
About a year ago, I had an accident where the weight of the engine was on the pan for a bit. Still good.
Yours should did juuuust fine.
And yeah. ....all those horror stories sound all too familiar.

I cant imagine people complaining about brazing... Hell, Caterham uses brazing in their chassis construction and that is a critical part...
