Track Day at Autobahn Country Club Near Chicago
Hi All:
The 3rd annual Lotus Ltd. (www.LotusCarClub.org) track day at AutoBahn Country Club road course (www.AutobahnCountryClub.net) in Joliet, IL is Monday, June 5,2006. Hopefully the weather will be as beautiful as previous years and the driving even more fun. Our track day is open to all cars which pass tech inspection. Again, the date is Monday, June 5, 2006. WE WILL BE USING THE FULL 3.56 MILE, 21 TURN ROAD COURSE!!!! The price, $235 is the same as previous years for all participants. How about that for no inflation? The same rules apply including limiting the number of cars so we all get plenty of track time again. Like the previous years, we will have early tech inspections the evening before at a local hotel and at the track the day of the event. We will have instructors on hand as well. For those of you worried about hotel accommodations, we've blocked 15 rooms at the Fairfield Inn (815) 741-3499 and 10 rooms at the Hampton Inn (815) 725-2424 both in Joliet, IL. The rooms are being held under "Lotus Ltd." You are responsible for hotel reservation and payment. Both hotels are about 10 minutes from Autobahn Country Club. Upon receipt of your application and check, I'll forward a track day packet to you with all the pertinent information. If you have questions or would like a registration packet, contact me at (314) 889-0572 or e-mail me at Feffman@Yahoo.com. Happy Motoring!!! Mark Pfeffer - Lotus Ltd. Track Day Coordiantor (314) 889-0572 Feffman@Yahoo.com |
Can't make it since I'm in SoCal, but the concept of a country club racetrack is intriuging. They want $25,000 to join and $3,000 per year, and then you get "unlimited" track time.
The entry fee is awfully high. You'd have to really love this one track, because for a lot less, you could spread out your daily entry fees to lots of other tracks and get virtually "unlimited" track time wherever you want, for less money. But I guess if you can afford it, it would be pretty cool. |
Autobahn is a cool track, anoher one of the Alan Wilson tracks, so has a lot of the same tye of features of his other ones..
When I went there last year the membership fee did surprise me, even with the track being very nice. I suspect with it being close to Chicago AMS and I will be back at some point. (other than running it on One Lap of America this year) Jon K |
This is a really nice track, and the facilities are very nice. There's altitude change along with nice corners that i'm sure everyone will be satisfied with.
just don't let this happen to u like it happened last year ;) http://img138.imageshack.us/my.php?i...ized6408le.jpg Be safe and have fun out there guys! Wish I could join...I will in a few years I suppose ;) |

They could institute some type of a reciprocal agreement among themselves allowing members to go to any track for no charge. Variety is the spice of life. Lotus Ltd. is very excited to run at Autobahn June 5th! Mark Pfeffer www.LotusCarClub.org |
my house in illinois is about 15 miles away from the track, i would drive by it alot going home from work. One day an enzo pulled out right infront of me leaving the track.
I would do this but i dont think that i will have an evo in illinois by june |
I am definitely in. That track is amazing, been there once and it is a site to see. If its good enough for Michael Jordan its good enough for me.

Oh, Im there.
I ran there last season on the short course and it was awesome!!! If anyone wants driver instruction let me know. Lots of instructor experience, wins, track records, etc. This is where driver out performs HP. I suggest anyone considering doing this event, the one mod you need to do is a set of Hawk race pads, stainless steel lines, and some Motul 600 brake fluid. Do a complete flush. Trust me, it sucks dealing with fade rather than concentrating on your driving. |
Does anyone know of other races going on in the area? I am looking to do some auto X and some road coarses this year but having a hard time finding some within 100 miles.

www.blackhawkfarms.com www.roadamerica.com www.milwaukeemile.com Further away but worth the drive: www.gingermanraceway.com www.grattanraceway.com As for the Autobahn.... I've only been on the North track and have been wanting to get on the South. Rarely do you ever find an event that has both tracks. How soon do you expect this event to fill up? I need to see how my schedule looks but would certainly love to run the full course! |
thanks
