Let's do a track day, october 9th, nelson ledges!!
 

Hey guys,

The end of the year is here and I don't know about you all but I'm not ready for any freaking snow!

Nelson Ledges is having it's last Fun Days of the year coming up next week.

I'd like to get out on the road course one more time before the end of the year and it's a fun track to run at.

It's just an open lapping day, no instructors, basic safety rules, like helmet, seat belts, long pants. Other than that it's run your car until you wear it out.

The price is great too. It's $130 typically but I spoke to the track and if we can get at least 10 drivers (two or more guys can share one car, but each have to pay) they will let us do it for $100 per driver.

Date is Saturday, October 9th. Track opens at 8am, racing starts at 10 am and runs until 4 pm. We can all find a place to eat and hang out afterwards.

Post here if you are interested. If you've never tried it, this is the time, it's a freaking blast. I waited until I was 40 to give road racing a try and let me tell you, I waited WAY to long!!

That is a great price and sounds like a lotus of fun...if I wasn't 8 hrs away I would definitely come...haha...

I got it on my Calendar. I'm only about an hour away. If the weather holds up, I'll be there.

wow im so mad its in ohio and not in new york. wish i could attend but i'm like 2days away.

4 hrs away for me, but I'm already running Watkings Glen on Monday and Tuesday making it a bit of a full extended weekend. Price is definitely not bad either and I could actually drive in with an early start, run the car, and then get home Saturday night with Sunday to rest. I'll see if I can get the car 100% ready before the weekend but it's not going to be easy. :o

I never drove the track but my co-driver Sean Caron did in the 2010 One Lap (1 warmup lap, then 3 hot laps). Looks like he is managing around 1:17 lap times once he gets going:

This was his afternoon run so he had 3 hot laps under his belt at this point. The track was a bit bumpy but he managed it quite well considering he was driving my car and it was only set for 24 psi boost with conservative suspension settings. Anyone within a few hours drive should get some seat time before the snow flies!

Come on guys, will be a great time. If nothing else come out and hang out for the day. Should be a good time and we can turn it into a nice end of year gathering!

Remember if you are driving, mention you are with Buschur Racing's group so if we have 10 guys we can get it for the $100.

I wish I could react that fast to track day postings. While Nelson Ledges isn't on my list of places to return to, the chance to pass Dave Buschur on a track is worth a $100. :)

I too will be at Watkins Glen on Monday with a growing field of Mitsubishi's invading the Porsche club DE event. Have fun while the weather lasts, and I will send the notice to some friends down in Ohio.

Sounds like a challenge, I'm up for it and will only be driving a FWD '06 Eclipse, come on out.

Good price, but I just saw this and I can't swing the 9.5 hour drive on short notice.
