Evo X SCCA GT Road Racing Class

Hi everyone, I have been wondering if anyone could help with the GT classifications for SCCA Club Racing.

I'm very interested in qualifying the car for SCCA, and based on my current built, it seems that GT class would be the only class that I could possibly enter.

Here is the build thread with the mods on the car:

I would really appreciate any input you guys might have.

First things that i see that might be an issue is the cage. Does it go to the firewall? You will need that done to run GT and it looks like its not there in your pics.

Second is going to be the carbon fiber roof. I'm fairly sure that will not be legal either. I will double check that tho.

Third, you do realize that "real" GT cars are tube frame cars? You will have a hell of a time running GT times in a evo,

Oh, and after a quick look to confirm my memory. Page 297 of the GCR" turbo charging/supercharging not permitted." and i'm not going to look again but i believe AWD are not permitted either.

Not going to be much for you in SCCA other then ITE. (regional only class, check your local region)

Those are out of the 2011 rule book. I kno that STO did go away but they sent the cars to GT3 i believe or T1. The evo was eligible for that class but i still think you might be out of luck with the stroker motor and big turbo.

Yea, seems like just having a turbo is not permitted in the GT classes. They sent the cars from STO to GT2 so that it's what I was thinking about doing.

Thinking just to replace the engine with a 2.0 sleeved and keep the stroke at 86mm at this point, so that I can try running in STU. But then again everything is very limited on that category as well.

Be more options for you in NASA

Just looked at your build thread. You would be in in TTR or TTU
I'd have to look at the rules to know which one though. But anyways
There unlimited classes.

Thanks! I was planning to run ST1 with NASA, but was wondering if there would be any possibilities at this point to run SCCA.

Like I said, if you just want to run for fun then most of the regions will run ITE or whatever they call their catch all local class. You might not have anyone to run against or be even on the same playing field as another car but you can run. NASA will usually have at least 1 car to run against. Lol

Marty gave me some good direction with regards to class. I'm looking at the new T1 class, which as jerdeitzel correctly stated, has merged with the old STO class.

This looks promising, but from what I can tell right now, I will probably have to change at least the crankshaft and turbo. CF roof is a no go at all.
