Let's talk about options, how to set sway bar preload, quality, price, fitment and failures.

Looks like these are the only companies that still make end links for the CT9A platform:

Perrin
Agency Power
Whiteline

Anyone have any first hand experience with these brands?

Ive been running a Perrin RSB with matching endlinks for probably about 4 years now. In regards to the endlinks I have no complaints. I'd imagine that the different offerings from the 3 companies mentioned are all fairly similar.

The only reason I upgraded my endlinks were bc I had to chop off my old ones so I figured what the heck?

I cant comment on any noticible difference between the factory end links and aftermarket ones however I'd imagine they offer a little less "flex" (my technical term:lol:)

The only failure I've experienced was actually my fault when I was adjusting it one day and I overtightened the nut which stripped it so I had to replace one of rod end/ spherical bearings or whatever their called.

I've never messed with preload but I am interested to hear what people have tried and what they found. All I did was make sure that they do not have any preload and then let it be. I know I didnt really give you anything to work with here but figured I'd chime in anyway.

im running the perrin endlinks with RRE rsb (progress)
no complaints, love it.

I am very interested on what people have to say in regards to endlinks also. I just purchased Swift Swaybars and I hate that Swift doesn't make endlinks. I am a big fan of their products (I've had Swift Springs on all 3 of my evos and Swaybars in 2) and wish I could match them with a set of Swift Endlinks.

Anyways, I am leaning towards getting the rear Perrin Endlinks and also hate that they don't have matching set for the front bars. Should I just get front and rear Whiteline sets or not bother to upgrade the front endlinks? I know people will say "make your own, it's cheaper", but I am skeptic of putting things on the Evo that did not have some kind of testing or research behind it.

im running stock with whiteline bar. i did a lot of research and found no appreciable benefit in going to anything aftermarket in a cost vs benefit level for where my car is setup wise (tracked on ohlins with 8k/10k rates and rs3's)

killerpenguin21 do you have any information on adjusting sway bar preload? It was my understanding that this is supposed to be the added benefit of running aftermarket end links.

your correct, it is an added benefit, but in all honesty i see no need for it if you are not going full out to corner balance etc. i think it will make such a small difference that an amateur driver will never be consistent enough to notice.

for me the 100 dollar difference between stock and aftermarket was better spent elsewhere.

I have perrin rear and the white line fronts.

Quality of the links are both good, preload.... I didn't adjust the length for preload, I am no racecar driver lol

Honestly I replaced them because the stockies are a pain in the ass to get off and on.... so I just cut them off.

Somewhere in here is a how to make your own with a list of parts. Several years ago I used that. If I remember correctly I was able to put together a frt and rear set for about 85.00 I think it came from an old BMW posting. This a good and solid and worth the investment, I couldnt part with 250.00 from a manufacturer. Good Luck.

yeah, looks familiar.. Found these on line to give you an idea of what they look like. The longer ones for the rear should have a large hex shaft from the parts list..But see what you can make of it. As I mentioned its worth it in my view.

Anyone have any specific reason why I should stay away from the Whiteline end links?

No specific reason to stay away from them, but I did the DIY building of all 4 endlinks this past off season, held up great to street driving and 32+ autocross events.

I wouldn't recommend any other option than building your own and saving some cost, without sacrificing performance. Good Luck golgo.

I don't mind making some, it's mostly an issue of having the time to track down the stuff in that parts list, order it and then assemble them.

It's easier for me to spend $120 or whatever and not have to think about it.
