kevind has a challenge
imo sticking your car on a dyno and doing a 1/4 mile run is like launching it with 8 people crammed in it.talk about unecessary drivetrain stress. im not a fan of dyno's especially after my last experience.
i'll take the challenge...
my criteria: i'll tune the car for MAX hp and torque on the street. i get to log everything with my wideband and obd logger.
strap the car to the dyno, do 2-3 pulls to get an average.
next, i remove my tune (all of it, injector scaling, timing tables, MIVEC, fuel tables, fuel cut, etc..). then he tunes it on the dyno. compare dyno numbers. then i get to log his tune on the street, AFR, timing etc... to compare in both conditions.
we can compare the HP/torque curves, as well as the logs on the street to see how the two tuning conditions compare.
whos car are we tuning?

im a big fan of kevind's tunes and letting somebody else tune my car would be like telling somebody its okay to have sex with my girlfriend becuase i need another opinion on "how she works" with somebody else "under the hood"

its a test, they both would like to see how a street tune vs a dyno tune and how the car would act on the street and dyno..both are great tuners and both have people backing their tunes up.

Since I do not have a DI account, I will ask this question here: Why does this guy get to "optimize" Kevin's tune? It seems to me that he doesn't want to tune from a baseline and this is BS.
Kevin has the right idea to have both guys start from scratch. Kevin will tune it and log the data. Then run some pulls on the dyno.
Then the other guy starts from scratch and tunes on the dyno. Kevin will get a chance to log it on the street.
Then, they can compare each others tunes on the dyno and the logger.
Does this make sense?
Kevin does have an advantage considering he has tuned so many Evo's, but the other guy is making the challenge. If you give both a limited amount of time, that will level the field a little bit.
Edit: I just realized this is almost exactly what Denver wrote.
