depends what your goals and maint budget are.
996= better over all performing car. (very well balanced out of the box, are you going to pay for 150 oil changes?) and get extended warranty for sure so add 2k to cost of car)
vette= for hard track / auotX use will hold up better. requires less mods to be driven at its max. (ie: brake pads, stick tires, lower rev limit 500rpm and go drive)

porsche = extremely expensive to modify. i had one of the cheapest turbo porsches you can buy and it was still many times as much money to do anything to it as compared to the evo.
I would add 360 forged wheels a lip kit and maybe a used catback exhaust and leave it alone. Daily it and putts around. The vette would be pretty boring too. Cams wheels intake. I'm starting to lean towards just keeping the evo. Or buying an srt8 grand cherokee and building a 240 for road racing. Kind of a good combo except the jeep cant tow. I'm really just undecided and not wanting to fix the evo.
Im working on getting some barrels too from work, CLEAN ONES, and having like 100+ gal of E85 out there! Just need some one with a truck haha... the jett's trunk is big but I dont think it can hold all that e85
