Here's a quick pre-cruise checklist for everyone:
1. Check/add/change engine oil as needed
2. Check/top off engine coolant
3. Check/top off brake fluid
4. Tire tread depth
5. Tire air pressure
6. Check/clean/replace engine air filter as needed
If you have an Accessport or use ECUFlash be sure to bring everything needed to change your maps if needed. 93 octane and E85 are never guaranteed when traveling outside major cities.

Just to add to the list:
7. Window Wiper Fluid: Being that we're taking backroads, we might get dirty windshields.
8. Jugs for holding E85 or Pump Gas: This is more so for E85 users.
9. Tool kit: Don't need to bring your whole toolbox but perhaps some more common tools for whatever might come up.
10. Not so much car related but wear comfortable clothes. We're going to be driving all day so might as well be comfortable.

Just to comment on these:
7. Smashed bugs are inevitable! In case it was unclear to anyone, we will not be taking gravel roads.
8. As a safety precaution I don't recommend anyone carry fuel in their trunk, but as adults everyone is entitled to do as they please within their legal right
