ARP mains, head, and rod bolts are on the way. I'll plastigauge the bearings to make sure I'm still good with the ARPs. Then I need to order bearings.
I've read the FSM on how to figure out which bearings I need. I understand how to read the block stamps and the crank stamps, but NONE of my bearings have any markings on them. Do I just have to pull out the calipers and measure?
After that I'm putting in a new oil pump with GSC BSE kit. Then new valve seals and head gasket. I'll be sitting on my thumbs until I pick up the car on 9/22.

I plastigauged the main bearings with the ARPs last night. Verdict is in: block and rods are going to the machine shop. I'll go with ACL bearings. I pulled the pistons and removed the oil squirters from the block. Rings are in really good shape. They look brand new. I'm hoping to reuse them. I'm on the fence about finding a torque plate and honing the block. Buying one would really kill my budget.
Anyone have a torque plate they'd rent or loan?

A little progress. I found two bent valves in the head. Going to have a valve job done along with new guides and seals. Also picked up a stock fmic, downpipe, ignition coils, and plug cover on the cheap. Whittling down my list.

I'll get some once I get the car here. Picking it up next Saturday morning.
Some activity this week, though. I got stock cams, exhaust manifold, turbo, O2 sensor housing, downpipe, midpipe, FMIC, piping, ignition coils, plug cover, and intake.
Met up with a local this morning. Got my first ride in an EVO. Super excited. Red 03 with 9 turbo and bolt-ons. Turbo HP comes on so much differently than NA HP. Love it.
