The Driver's Edge - Oct 23-24th

TDE is hosting another MSR Cresson event next month. Anyone planning on going out there? I'm going to miss it but Kyle and Forrest will be out there.

Forrest and I just reserved our spots today, I'm looking forward to getting my car back on track.

You beat me to it. I already signed up and will be running in the Yellow group.

I have some brake ducts and a new under tray to install and I will be ready. I've never run the 1.7 clockwise, so it will be something new and exciting.

Todd, I checked the website and it didnt mention CW. I'd be interested to run it CW as well though.

I second that. I spoke with Rick on the phone a couple of days ago and thats the direction he said we were doing. CW is fun, it seems to flow better than CCW.

I like the 1.7 CW better than CCW. It's not quite as fast and rattlesnake is WAY easier.

There are some videos on YouTube of me doing the 1.7 CW in the Evo with Tim as my instructor.

Here's one:

Just sent in my registration.

Thanks for posting the video, Sean, it was really helpful to see how the track runs CW. BTW, what telemetry package is that?

goofygrin Oct 2, 2010 01:20 PM

I used the free version of MaxQ and a piece of software I wrote to combine the video with the gps data.

for those that need an inspection or alignment before this event I urge you to check out the DI motorsports forum (I can't link due to this forum's restrictions).

I finally got one of the videos loaded. I have never worked with videos before so it is taking me a while. Plus, I couldn't get my roomates nor my computer to edit the video. So I had to use a friend's Mac and I have no idea what I am doing.

Does anybody know how to compress the giant HD videos and/or load more than 10 minutes onto YouTube?

Anyway, here is the video of the second day at MSR on the 1.7 CW. it was pouring the first day, so this was the first session I got to use the Hawk HT-10 pads and Nitto NT-01 tires. I went off at 5:50 exiting Big Bend. Dang Miaita didn't let me pass and got me all flustered.

Pictures and more videos will go up as I finish them.
