On a hot day like this its nice having a good working non-stock intercooler on the car.

3rd Gear:

Starting IAT's @ the intake (2500 rpms) - 91.4 degrees

Ending IAT's @ into the motor (7000 rpms) - 91.4 degrees

This is logged via stock ecu w/ post intercooler GM IAT sensor.......stock intercooler cant hang with those kinds of numbers on a hot day like today

(I watched a 40 deg. rise in intake temps on a 50 degree day just in 3rd gear on the stock intercooler)

alright guys, i need a little advice. under my car there is a heat shield between the body of the car and the exhaust. it's come loose in a few places and is rattling at anything under 3k rpms.

i tried to get it out the other day, but two of the supports that hold it on are also anchor bolts for the driveshaft. which wouldn't be a problem, except for the fact that my exhaust is just a *bit* too large to let me access one of the bolts needed to drop the driveshaft and heat shield.

now the obvious solution would be to take off the resonator pipe to access the bolt, but after the ***** of a time i had getting the resonator pipe to seal to the rear of the cat, i am not willing to remove it again.

has anyone else removed their heat shield? i tried getting in there with my dremel, but no dice. it's too large to fit in between the driveshaft and exhaust pipe.

i could probably get away with just trimming most of it off under the front footwells. i thought about using a saw zaw, but i think i would end up damaging the body because of how close the heat sheilf hugs it. and i don't have on. ha.

so basically i am looking for a lazy and effective solution.

not even close dude. i've only done 2 or 3 autocrosses and the kart track on them. they're damn near brand new.

tried that. it worked for a while, then i ran the time trial and apparently jarred it around enough that it go even looser. i keep hoping it will just fall of, but to date, no such luck.

My Former Evo IX

I guess the owner of the Honda North in Butler tired of driving around in my Evo I sold to them. I see it is listed in their website.

Looks the dealership put on about 1000 miles since I sold it to him...

Yes..it is especially sad...since I have been driving around in a Subaru WRX for the last several weeks. Just lowered the price on it...and have some bites finally.

But...the BMW 335i's are looking pretty good so far....already researched how to flash the ECU

Well, I know everyone is going to tell me how gay I am when I say this, but GO FOR A 135i! Smaller, lighter, cheaper, and better . Pretty sure I'm the only one that likes the freakin' thing. Colin, shut up...its gorgeous.

P.s. Am I really the only Evo guy going to BeaveRun this Saturday? I called and its only 35 for Saturday, plus there is the PVGP cars that will be running on the NorthTrack. Its gonna be fun.
