Help need Mechanic in NJ

My dealership is trying to bone me on a new clutch. It just went on me at 18,000K miles and not only will they not cover it but they want to charge me over 1,000$ for a new stock crappy clutch.

Anyway I've decided to go with the ACT street set up and now I need a place to take it to for the installation.

Turbo Trix charges $600.00 just for the installation. It seems a little steep to me, am I wrong? but if someone can recommend a different cheaper place that knows what their doing, let me know.

I live in North Jersey.

Thanx

Gill is insane I'm pretty sure the price is still the same, but they may have gone up since then since he has been swamped with Evo stuff. Best bet is to contact him and get a price but its pretty close to that for sure!

^^^They are also great, they are doing my "engine rebuild," and I get my car tuned there with big AL. It is just a little far for me for normal upgrades.

I can tell you honestly that Gil is worth ever single penny. He has tons of experience doing clutch installs, just ask the evo-ny crew. Just b/c he can do the install in 2 1/2 hrs doesnt mean that other shops can do it in the same time.....if you shop around you will see that everyone will probably charge you 4-5 hours.

to the original poster,

Also, another alternative if you are willing to drive is Ferrarokid in stamford, ct. He is a master tech at ferrari...incredible mechanic.
