To keep it short, the Columbus Police Department has been monitoring the local boards and are well aware of the statewide meet on the 30th. Fortunately we have "stumbled" upon information that will keep us (Columbus guys) off the streets that evening. They have had weeks to plan out their sting operation for that evening, and had planned to "make an example of the street racers and stop all of the 'extreme driving' on I-270."

As a fellow car guy to another/others, I would take caution if you still plan on making a trip up, but I really don't see the point. Many of us were looking forward to meeting everyone, but I know that egos would boil over even if we all just met up to chit chat. And because we've intercepted information regarding the operation planned by the CPD, I'd rather we be safe than sorry.

Perhaps we could collaborate and rent out the track together this fall? We usually rent out Marion County Int'l Raceway twice a year. We already did it last month, and we'll do it again this October more than likely to finish off the season. But, we could shoot for Kil Kare instead so it's halfway for each city?

Let me know what you guys think, and sorry to be the bearer of the bad news.

People just have to use their judgement that night. Plus you shouldn't be street racing anyways...

I didn't know people rent out Marion racetrack, please post it on EvoM next time they do rent it out.

 

No I won't be there. sunday night my car was shot up with a BB gun...1885$ in damages. Sorry. It goes in the shop on monday. lots of new glass...yeah!!
