Yeah, I have been reading similar things on NASIOC. I believe a tuner shop in GA. got around 70whp with just a tbe, high flow filter, and a custom tune. Pretty impressive. It's about time Subie's start responding with simple bolt ons.

i like the car personally. if you have any time behind the wheel of any older model STi, you can feel the difference in gearing. fourth gear pulls oh so nicely

I have the bolt-ons for my IX to be put on early spring...sounds like it will be a good run unless I granny shift and double clutch Only thing I have to determine is if I will have the cash next spring for the 2.3L stroker, only time will tell

^^I'm sure it will, but I hope you are not on a budget with upgrades. I hear to make these things "fast" it costs significantly more. One of the reasons I swayed toward the Evo when it came down to deciding. But all in all, I do like the STi. I just saw more for my dollar with the Evo and future upgrades upon purchase. Seriously though, keep us posted on upgrades

well now with turboback, and a "reflash" which do cost 600 bucks for the cobb acessport, they are seeing 320ish AWHP, which isnt too shabby for a subby, thats the only reason i decided to try out the STI, besides i love the sounds of my damn exhaust!! music to my ears!! i have parts that will be on by spring. currently in my garage awaits.. tein S-techs, APS FMIC, Invidia catless downpipe, Cobb AP, APS intake, and a Clutchnet Stage 3 clutch. I dont think im going big turbo with this car tho.... im not installing anymore parts till the snow (or lack of) clears this spring when the track opens. Subarus are not 1/4 mile cars, but im going to try to make it one.

Nice. I love seeing builds while owners retain the stock turbo. Using it to it's full potential earns points in my book. I would love to do a turbo upgrade, but after seeing some of the numbers people are getting with great parts and great tuning, I am going to stay stock on the turbo. Just continue building when I can. Best of luck man

I love driving STI's...but I chose the EVO over it...even in a 5 speed.

The sound of the STI and WRX's are great...but the reason you get that is your exhaust pulses colliding with each other causing backpressure. Throw an equal length header on that car and the sound is gone.

Good luck with the STI.
Great car.

Don't know why you ever sold the 2JZGTE.
That's sacreligious to me.

oh i heard a equal length header on a suby last nite, sounds kinda bad until boost hits...

I also found out last nite, you dont need any special software for tuning, you can get them reflashed like an evo which is nice finally!!
