Post NJ Dealer Recommendation?

Hey everyone,
Hopefully this is the right subforum to put this...

Im looking to get a new '06 Evo IX MR(white preferably) ASAP. Not many dealerships in my area(Cent.NJ). I have been to 4 dealerships already: Bell, Princeton, All-star, & Global. Here are my experiences with them...

Global - Walked in, guy aproaches me wearing an all-purple colored suit with a purple top-hat(pimp?) I guess trying to be funny. Asked him if he had any Evo's...he has a confused look on his face, and then says, "Evo, what's that?". I walked out.

Princeton - Walked in a guy by the name of Tom approaches me and asked me if I was interested in an Evo. I say yes I am very interested in the MR. He doesn't know much about the product though, because every time I would ask him about it, he would walk over to the window sticker of the car for an answer. 2 mins later, an older couple walk in inquiring about a used car, interupting me, and his focus goes straight to them. "Uh, let me know when your ready and we'll get things set up ok?" Tom says. I walked out.

Bell - Walked in, sat down with a salesman, worked out some num...wait...TRIED to work out some numbers. Ended up walking out after about 1 1/2 hours because Im not paying $650/month for an EVO.

All-star - Ok now this one dealership really sucks. Had a friend recommend me to this one. We walked in, introduced me to the sales manager, and a saleman and started talking. He told me since I was friends with the person(my friend) I was with that they were going to give me $500 off MSRP LoL..>Wooptie-doo!
Anyway, worked out some numbers, but this car is going under my Father's name so I told them I'd come back next week with him to run is credit, which I did.
Came in 5 days later with my father, walked up to the sales manager. Guy goes, "hey how could I help you today?". I guess he didn't remember. I told him I was just here a couple days ago speaking to someone about the EVO MR. I sent me to the salesman that I told him helped me. Salesman ALSO didn't remember me and goes, "hey how could I help you folks today?"
Anyway, told him I was here with my father to get a rate with both Chase & Mitsu. He goes, "Ok, let me just have his social and I'll be right back". He left, came right back less than 2 mins later and says, "yeah it's about 7-8 percent".
What is that an estimate or something? Anyway, I left.
Two days later one of my friend tells me to go to carsdirect.com and fill out my info, so that a dealer will contact me about my own price. I go to the site and the price is already set at invoice at the time. So I left it at that and I submitted my info.
Next day I get an Email from guess who? Allstar Mitsubishi

Here's the actual Email:
---------------------------------------
Hello Andre.
Thank you for your request. I would like to speak with you . Please contact me on Thursday morning 9 am until 9 pm. I have a special discount on all 2006 Evo's lX as well as the MR. I am offering you 750.00 over invoice , not over sticker . If this interest you, send me an email and I will definately call you on Thursday.

Thank you in advance.

----------------------------------------

So I emailed her back because this offer sounded really good. Made an appointment went back to the dealership. Walked in and she introduced me to the SAME salesman that I delt with before!!!!
We started putting down the numbers and they would never add up!!!
First off the invoice they were giving me was higher than i've seen on ANY website. Yahoo autos including multiple other sites were giving me an Invoice of $33,165. Yet "their" invoice was alittle over $33,800. When I told them about this they said that their invoice included destination. But 33,165 + 625(dest) = $33790 which doesn't add up. Anyway I was getting so frustrated that I told him to just give me a freakin number already because I was getting pissed with this sales crap.
$629/month is what he get me and he didn't even show me how he got that number after I asked him countless times.

Does anyone see any sense in that? Here's a breakdown of my situation:
Trading in my srt-4 he & other dealers quoted me $12500 for it. Im financing it so the buyout price on it is $,10,400. So that is $2100 towards the evo with no tax on the difference because of trade-in.
Credit score of 741 I believe that is Tier 1?? Through Chase he told me it was 6.9% for 72 months. No money down, just my trade in value. Somehow he got 629/mo out of all that and the amount after 72mo was in the mid 40K's.

Can anyone help me out with this, i'd really appreciate it. Am I doing anything wrong here? Can someone PLEASE recommend me to a dealership that isn't going to jerk me around?
Thanks alot guys/gals!

Give him the model and color you want and he'll call you back in 1/2 hour with a price, and your trade in price if you have a trade in. I paid cash for my cars so I don't know how his financing is, but I know he can get financing. He is in Ocean City but will travel anywhere to get you what you want.
Well I wanna thank everyone for their recommendations. You guys have been a huge help.
I went ahead with UNCLE BOO's advice, thank you btw, and went ahead and called Harry Klause. He's located in Ocean City which is all the way down south Jersey by Atlantic city.

I gave Harry a call today and he seems like an honest down to earth guy that doesn't have the "saleman" attitude. He promised me $500 above invoice($33,165) and located me a car in 30mins.
Now...I work at a well known premier dealership in NJ and have the convenience of a sales screen and the financing guys. I printed the numbers and when I asked him my monthly payment over the phone, it ended up being ONLY a $2.00 different which im not going to complain about .
He couldn't find me a Wicked White MR which I was hoping for but did find a graphite grey and a Silver one which was my second choice and the one im going with. Tommorrow I will be finalizing the deal over the phone/fax so I can pick up the car on Tuesday. Funny thing is he was even offering to drive up to Union County to drop off the car and pick up the trade-in!!!
Anyway, Im VERY happy with my current experience and would recommend him to anyone in the Tri-state aread....especially New Jersey guys. If all goes well, the deal will be closed tommorrow. Im so tired of dealer shopping already.
Will keep ya guys updated until delivery.
Thanks again for all the suggestions and to UNCLE BOO

I'm over in Holmdel and Seacoast in Eatontown doesn't get many Evos and they always sit on the lot for a while when they do get them. Freehold Mitsubishi is a lot better than Seacoast but I couldn't talk them down to the price that I wanted on the car (invoice on an VIII). There is one other Mitsubishi dealership on 36 in Sayreville (right next to Delilah's Den if you know your strip clubs) that always has some Evos but I have no idea how the salesmen are.

My friend bought her Eclipse at Manfredi Mitsubishi in Staten Island. I would say Manfredi's is your best bet if you don't mind the drive and that is where I'll most likely go for my IX MR.

The one in Sayerville your talking about I believe is All-star. The same ones I went to. The reason they always have Evo laying around is because they like playing games with people and not everyone is stupid.

It seems a little high on the $629 payment, but I think it's the interest rate that is the culprit. The above example that Ray gave only included 1 year of interested, not a compounded interest as you have with a car loan. Figure these #s.

$33790 for the car - $2100 for your trade = $31690
$31690 x 1.07 for sales tax = $33908
lets say tags are $140.00 + $33908 = $34048 that you will be financing

You can then put this into an online calculator such as the one found at: http://www.bankrate.com/brm/calculators/autos.asp

If you do this calculator with a 9.9% interest rate and 72 months you have $629/mo
If you do this calculator with a 8.9% interest rate and 72 months you have $612/mo
If you do this calculator with a 7.9% interest rate and 72 months you have $595/mo

Exactly! At 6.9 (which I think is still very high considering credit) the payment should not be in the 600's.

I went to Freehold Mitsubishi in freehold, new jersey on rte. 9 when I was looking for an Evo. There very professionally and actually talk to you like a person. They didnt try to scam me. You know how alot of dealerships like to BS! Try them! They usually have a lot of Evo's!

Dude I live in central NJ and did the same thing as you. Went to every dealer, they are all retards and eventually ended up at Manfredi Mitsu in Staten Island. Cool guys, no bull****. Bought my car from there.
