Question to all NY and NJ Evo Owners

My question is really to all people with Evos who by law in their state have to have a license plate mounted to the front of all cars registerred in that state. I hate the way the car looks with the front plate, and want to get a concensous to all you tri state Evo owners on wehter or not you have installed the plate or removed the mounting bracket from the dealer and hope you don't get a ticket.

my first mod = took gay *** license plate holder off the evo.

screw the front plate, even if the cops want it. just dont post it on your dash, because they will then see it, and then notice you dont have it attached where its supposed to be. if you just run without a front plate, the copys will rarely even notice. i have yet to get pulled over for that... just dont be doing anything bad in your car and you dont have anything to worry about!

Law in NJ is visible from 50' and 12"-48" from the ground. (Just FYI) Dunno about NY, but I'd assume it's the same.

My front plate is on. I don't need to give the cops and troopers any reason to pull me over. The EVO is excuse enough.

What if I tell you that front licence plate for NY is optional. Would you still leave it on?
My friend and I recently had our cars inspected without the front licence plate for NY. Both car passed the inspection. Rumor has it that the front plate is optional.
However, there are several possible reasons why we passed.
1. Inspection garage neglected it
2. Inspection does not involve checking the front plate. Or
3. Front plate is optional

Can someone confirm the 3rd reason is valid? Thanks...

No, in New York and New Jersey it is THE LAW to have the front plate on.

Inspection could care less about your plates, they jsut want to make sure the car isn't emitting anything stupid.

Don't give the police any more reason. If anything, just mount the plate to the left or right side of the bumper. Don't be an idiot and get a ticket.

Idiot here....

...just this Thursday at 12:32pm traveling westbound on the Long Island Distressway I received a ticket for no front license plate..... That was my first mod....removing the front plate horror...where they drilled a hole in the bumper.

Of course it didn't help that I was also ticketed for 90 in a 55...sigh...
