because it is a PITA to replace them in the car. Unless you want to pull the head which i am totally game for.
the valve springs are fine, even at 70k. I was just reading a thread on valve spring designs and they did a test of DSM springs at 100k and they were the same rate as a brand new spring.

I must say, though... I'm excited at the prospect of getting the mani/hotside/o2... and I think i'm starting to feel the DSM heritage kick in... AKA, "what can I get for cheap?"..... at this point, i just wish I could afford a nice DD for kate... i'd keep the exploder for me and just start tearing the evo apart...

Paul, you are asking teh newb questions, buddy.
Which reminds me... don't we have parts to install on your car?!?
Kate's going out with her friends Saturday night so we can install your WB if you want.... lemme know.
FWIW, anyone who's put cams in an VIII that I know has spun their stock clutch, regardless of miles... it will just start to slip near peak torque.
The combination of mods and 65k miles has mine slipping- albeit very occasionally- when I get on it in the aforementioned conditions.
I'll be shopping for an Exedy twin disc... as for cams- I haven't really done any research yet... since my priorities have changed, I'll likely move toward a more aggressive setup... i'll also probably be doing springs and retainers at the same time.
I've gotta do a bunch more research, tho... we'll see

dude i love that your going for a more aggressive setup
That's good to know... that's the type of research I need to do before I make anymore dumb decisions on parts for the car (Apex'i DP, FTL).

Kenny- i am not sure which way you are headed with your car. But a greddy profecB spec II has a digital read out for real time boost reading. I have this mounted on my steering column. And has just about infinite control for boost settings. It is more expensive than running a mbc, but this could also be your boost gauge without having to really worry about a mounting solution for a round type gauge. Let me know if I can be of any help, as I have an account setup with GReddy.
Read the thread about ultimate racings exhaust. You can get a very good idea of how it will be cuz a lot of guys in there have done it. Initially they said it was a PITA, but maybe it wont be so bad since ppl have gave some instruction.

Zero complaints. I would buy this again in a heart beat. This will be the first purchase I make when after getting into a new Evo.
In stock at my supplier. Retails for $432....$345 shipped and can have it here in 2 business days.
