do what i do.

touch the door/ or any metal part of your car with your left hand and dont take them off till you is off the car.

then no shock. simple.

but most of time i just get out and touch the door with my elbow and get shocked.

subaru has a secret pad you put on the inside of your door that discharges your static electricty as you get out.

hahaha its funny you mention that....

I show that off at night. I can shock myself on demand even standing outside the car. I have NOOOOOOOO idea why this happens, but if I walk up to the car scrapping my feet on the ground, rubbing my stomach and tapping my head, the car shocks me and a big blue spark pops out haha.. no lie, lets have a static meet and I'll prove it to you. I'm grounded on pavement with rubber shoes and it still does it.... Now, if I drive with my big fluffy dog slippers on...the shock just hurts.

Best thing to do is when you open the door, place your hand on any metal part of the door, then put your foot on the ground and then get out. Works every time for me.
