^more against the 93. There are a couple of stations around me that have it for around $3.70. You do get the power from 105 but have to squirt more in the engine.

I was doing math in my head and it didn't seem to add up. What is your average gas mileage? How often do you fill up? What does it cost to fill up?

Not trying to hijack the thread just wanted more info on a dd setup.

There are a few threads on the subject on here. In a DD you are still getting a 105-113 equivalent octane fuel. You can also mix-down if you want (many e85 tuning forums have alot of people achieving better mileage than on pump gas using a 30-50% ethanol mixture).

Relative to 93 octane the price is typically about 30% less around here with typically 30% worse mileage expected. In my evo IX I saw 22-24mpg pump and 16-19 e85 (roughly 24% worse mileage). My evo X was 20-22mpg pump and 16-18mpg (roughly 19% worse mileage).

On the other hand... 105 octane was ~$7 / gal last time I filled up (though that was a couple of years ago)... it still doesn't have quite the detonation resistance and even less availability.

Alternatively you could pull the turbo off of your car and run 87 octane... but thats not really a fair comparison either.

FYI since you live in Aurora, the unfortunate part for us is that Gas City just filed for bankruptcy and all stations were sold to speedway at auction. None of them plan to carry e85 as far as I can tell. Thortons and Woodmans still continue to carry e85.

Sorry to the OP for being off topic, but yes typical DD around 20 mpg.
I fill up every two days and sometimes carry an extra 5 gallon so I don't have to go back till mid week.
I just filled up and it was $38.00@3.35/gal. Last year it was 2.15/gal

I have a station by me cam2 100 octane was $8.69 /gal

Where do you get e85 in rockland I used get it in Irvington when I lived in the Bronx.I haven't used for about a year now.Is the station cool with filling up jugs ?In Irvington they were ok with it they thought I was a crackhead because I would get 6 5 gallon jugs plus I filled up my car.

Sunoco on 45, Spring Valley
BP on 303 in Congers (More expensive)

To the OP: I would recommend Sean@ Ivey for your tune. Good Luck

Remember, we can grow more corn, we can't kill any more dinosaurs!

Plus E85: Grown, harvested, made and consumed in the USA
