NYC 10+" snow advans!?

just snowed over 10" here in new york, all i have to say is the avans are not as bad as people think. i did not get stuck at all, car takes off straight if you dont over gas it, and it stopped very well.

not to say i was really comfortable driving, if you would gas it a liitle too much it would kick out or pull. but if you had to drive your evo with advans in the snow, it was possible, just had to be a liitle carefull with the gas pedal. but overall they performed better than expected. just thought i would share this with you guys.

btw still am geeting better snow tires before next snow storm.

I have to agree, they weren't too bad when the snow wasn't packed down or icy.. I got right out of the deep snow, drove it around..

OOnly it sucked BADLY when I was driving where the snow was packed and the tires had no bite.. any steering input threw the car into a drift, and any sort of stop caused it to slide..

Definitely recommend getting something like the Michelin Pilot AS Their dry handling is respectable.

Last night I finally wanted to test out my Evo and the Conti Extreme Contacts out in the snow... Left it sitting in the driveway for the entire time it snowed.. I took my car down a steep hill that was icy and snow package and I have to say I'm so damn impressed with the car and the tires... I was throwing the car so so damn violently and the car did not want to come off line... I was amazed... Very safe set up in the snow and my car is dropped to boot... Hopefully my front end survives what looks to be a hellish winter..
