Evo's in Southern NH?
Hello all, I have been watching the evo's for quite some time, i was really excited when they finally came to the us, but to be honest its too heavy for me. I drive a 2001 neon ACR currently, its basically a striped down race version. no poking for at me for driving a neon.
I purchased it brand new in Jan 2001 and started to make my own turbo system in Mar 2001. its been done for 2 years now. It weights in at 2650 lbs and has 242hp to the wheels. I was telling my buddy that I wish mitsu would make a stripped down race version of the evo 8 with no ac and all that other stuff that i really dont want. Well, i opened motor trend the other day and the car i dreamed of was staring me right in the face. the 2004 evo RS! somehow they listened to me! I autocross on weekends and I have never had a daily driver with AC so I dont need all that heavy junk
Now I was wondering if any of the nice evo 8 folks are near southern NH and would let me get a ride in their car? The dealer near work (Danvers, MA) wont even let me breath on one. not to mention the $3000 markup. When my neon is payed off next year I will be seriouly looking at the Evo RS. And to be honest I dont like test driving brand new cars that arent broken in. thats not very nice. maybe some would even let me drive their car?
Thanks guys.
2004 Evo RS here I come!

What? Danvers Mits won't let you test drive an Evo?
That's suck. I brought my evo there on July. There is no markup on Evo. I test drive the car several times before I finally sign the paper work.
I'll bet they will even sell it for manufacturere invoice now if you interested.
If you need the sales person name, pm's me. This sales person will take care of you.
Cheers

Last time I drove by, they have several Evo's at the lot. Maybe they like to keep it till 2004 and sell the 2003 model for 2004 price.
Last I heard, Evo sales is really poor. Same with Subaru STI.

Tell them your friends bought it for 28k and see what they tell you. That's how I did it (only I said 28.5).
Or if you really want the stripped RS it's different...

Good for you, like I always say, there's a car out there for everyone...
I on the other side swore to myself that I'll never ever own a crank-window car again

Yeah, and I'm just the oposite, I hate power options, I am capable of doing my own work

A set of switches and electro-motors is in most cases lighter and cheaper than a crank and the mechanism to raise your windows manually.
It's the other things on RS that make it few pounds lighter than regular Evo.
Anyways, enjoy!
