Purchasing a 2014 EVO NJ
Wow, just did a search of Evos within 250 miles of Boston, and there are a ton in NJ compared to MA. Why is that? Is the biggest Mitsubishi dealer in the Northeast in NJ? I might have to make the trek if MA dealers aren't willing to give me a good price like OP's 38.5k on an MR w/ premium package.

It sure is. I stood in the middle of the showroom for 10 minutes before I found someone I could talk to about buying a car.
And i'm not some flat-brimmed punk with no money. I went in on my way home from work, the place was empty, I'm 33 years old, was wearing a suit and driving the 07 Lexus GS350 I traded in on my Evo purchase from Bell.
I was the definition of the qualified buyer, and not only did they screw around playing candy crush or whatever instead of taking the time to talk to the only customer on the floor, when I did get to talk to someone he told me that I wouldn't be able to test drive a car and low-balled my trade.
So I'll never set foot in there again. If a business doesn't respect me and my time, I will direct people away from them.
Bell, on the other hand, was great. They gave me a fair deal, respected my time, and made it an enjoyable process. Jeff Davis and Jim Haskell are nice guys, and I'll do business with them again should the need ever arise. I'd recommend them over the amateurs at Rt. 46 to anyone.

Actually, in this context, I'd argue that respect is a one way street. Short of the buyer walking in and berating all the salespeople off the bat, the burden is really on the retailer to make a good impression.
Personally, I'm not offended by salespeople not coming over when I walk in. They probably don't want to seem like they're pouncing prey.

The old saying "you get what you give". There have been times where a customer walks in and tosses his credit card at a salesman and says I want that car for this much, etc. Believe me, there's good and bad on both sides.
So just a quick update I ended up going to Paramus Mitsubishi and got a pretty good deal (I think). Bell mitsubishi was courteous enough but ended up flaking out on their deal so to anyone going there I'd be weary of them
A tech at Bell beat on my room mates brand new Evo the other day right in front of his eyes. The idiot even came into the showroom to brag about it to his friend on the sales floor. It's a shame I will not be having my car serviced there because of this. I was happy with my deal and thought Jim and everyone were awesome. Oh well one bad apple, that's all it takes.
