SE Mass looking for time as a passenger
The lease on my Eclipse GT is up at the end of the year, and in about 6 months I have to really make my decision on what I intend on driving around for a while.
Normally I'm not sure the Evolution would ever be on my shopping list save for the fact that the folks at Executive Mitsubishi are just a great bunch of people. I was very young when I got the Eclipse and every other dealership was looking to stiff me on my trade, sell me whatever the general manager wanted them to push, or just told me to get lost. It's been a great customer service experience for 3 years and counting, and even though Mark and company haven't really said boo about my lease being up soon, I know I'm sitting high up on their retention list, and if possible, I'd like to give them another sale. They truly deserve it.
Executive doesn't stock Evolutions (and I don't blame them), and the folks in Raynham just gave me a funny look and told me to move along when I simply wanted to sit in one (I didn't even want to start the car!).
So I guess I come here with a request. I'd like to sit in the driver's seat for a minute or two (no keys) to see how I fit. After that I'd like to just be a passenger in some stop-and-go traffic, maybe over a terribly maintained road or two, and a bit of highway. That and just see how the car's been and your general anecdotal experience. The reason being is I'm unsure how I'd like the car as a daily driver and for general livability. This is the last car for a while as a house has really moved up my priority list, and I wouldn't want to end up brooding over how I should've went with something else.
The car seems like a hoot, and if the MR comes stateside I'd even hold on to the Eclipse for a while so I can get one. I'd probably take the Evo/MR autocrossing, whereas I wouldn't with an S4. I just have some reserves and worries that I'd either like to validate or dismiss (hopefully dismiss!)
I'm in New Bedford though I can practically fall into Dartmouth from my doorstep. If anyone would like to give me the grand Evo tour one weekend just drop me an e-mail. Thanks!

I 2nd chinalf. Take a trip up to Boch Mitsu on Route 1 in Norwood. It is only about an hour drive from you- take 24 north to 93S / 128N, then take the route 1 exit. The salesmen there won't give you any BS about the car and will definately let you sit in one. If you are a little serious about buying, they will probably be able to let you take it for a test drive.
Otherwise, you best bet may be to show up at the next evo meet, whenever that is.

Thanks, guys. I have gotten one offer for some seat time, but unfortunately it's a bit of a trip. That and I have a tendency to end up miles away from my destination if I'm using things outside of the basic cardinal directions.
Might have to give Norwood a shot. Was at Executive today for a state inspection (closest garage, why not?) and there wasn't an Evo on the lot as could be expected. The GM said he'd gladly let me take one for a spin if ever gets one that wasn't ordered for a customer.
However, I did spy a silver Evolution coming off of 140 onto Hathaway road. I think he ended up 2-3 cars behind me in the traffic. Too bad I was in a rush, otherwise I might've tried to get a hold of him and arrange something in the future.
