I figured this would be a good thread for people to vent when they bend a rim. It can also help to give the rest of us a heads up, so that we don't hit the same ****.

Route 22
After all of the rain we had last week there were a bunch of new pot holes. I can't believe that the roads here in NJ are that bad that water washes them away. Well it does! I hit the mother of all pot holes out on Rt.22 East on the Hillside Newark border just about 25 yards past the overpass (road bends left). I was in the slow lane (because it is nessicary for everyone else to stay in the left lane at all times) and smacked my right front. It looks even worse in person but you should be able to see it in the picture (the side with the valve stem). They had the pot hole fixed by the next day.

thats crazy ... i know about that pot hole... i always avoid it when im going to school in newark.
theres one huge pot hole up in jersey city, once u get off route 1 & 9 and enter 440 theres a huge one right there. i almost went in it b/c a trunk was in front of me and they could run over any pot hole and they wont even feel it

Rt. 78
One place that really kills to drive over is in the express lanes of Rt. 78 East just before the crossover lane for the Parkway (about a mile or 2 east of Rt. 24). The right lane is the worst. Anyone else bend rims in the area?

i just bent my front right rim yesterday. I was traveling on rt 80 east. Center lane, right after the exit for ledgewood.
The were cars next to me in both lanes so I couldnt switch out quick enough to avoid it...sucks..
The damage pretty much looks like the one in the pic....still drivable but looks terrible. I hit it going like 70mph and instantly knew I must've done some damage. It was actually a very deep pothole too so I was surprised I didn't blow my tire.
Does anyone know if its possible to get a bend like the one in the pic above fixed, or should I just save and get new rims?
