It's a bit of guesswork, but you want to come in with just enough gas to dyno (1/8 tank ?) then drop in 5 gallons of 100 octane after your tune for map 1. mixed in with a small amout of 92 will yield about 98 octane. that should work as your "high octane map".
there is a shop nearby that carries VP 100 unleaded for about $6-7/gallon.

How does that work, anyway? Shiv tunes you on the dyno with 92, then w/o taking the car off the dyno you fill it up with some quantity of 100??? Seems like it would be a challenge to dial in the octane with any accuracy, if mixing pump & race. Or do you run till empty then zip out and fill it up with race gas???

Yes, I am a total noob

Thanks
Last year, I ran my car to the point where my gas light was about to come on and then through it on the dyno. Then I added 5 gallons of 100 oct.

Speedware Motorsports in Redmond is about 5 minutes away from Fame. They sell C16 in 5 gal cans and are open on Sat. Call them today to make sure they have some in stock. Otherwise, you can mix in some Xylene to bump octane. The Home Depot is about 1/2 mi. from Fame - you can get some there. Here's a link to an octane calculator to get an idea of what type of octane you'll end up with if you're mixing with 92 http://www.easyperformance.com/Octan...d_Frameset.htm

Guildline on Xflashes are very simple. Its a one time fee to flash your ecu, any following reflashes done by us will be on the house. Reflashes are only free if parts are bought from us. If parts are not bought from us it is $175 for a new reflash.

It was my understanding that they offered free reflashes, but just of the base maps. Is this correct? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

There are other vendors that offer free reflashes once an initial is purchased.

Gents. Please post results of today's Dyno. I'm curious to see what kind of numbers folks are pulling. I'll post mine when I get to see the result next week. I was told that I gained 10WHP but the power curve smoothed out really well. I actually didn't anticipated much gains since I was running someone else's custom tune map with similar mods.

I think I jumped from 275WHP to 285WHP on 92 Octane fuel. My car had a vacuum leak somewhere and had to be troubleshot so I ended up eating about 2 hrs on the dyno.
