I would be interested, not sure if i want the exede or just that xflash, but would be willing to get some dyno time in and decide on which path to take. Let me know time frame you are talking about.

depending on when this is i might be down, if i am not ready to decide about a mod path then i might go up just to meet Shiv, and check out what you guys are all running.

Do some research amongst the different forums and talk to ppl that use the different tuners. Take advantage of the fact that you can get a custom tune instead of just a baseline map.
Shiv makes about 1 trip a year here in the NW and the only other way to have him custom tune your car (and also reflash w/o having to remove and send your ECU) is to drive to Cali.

Count me in. I'll drive up from Vanc. WA. I hear Shiv was in portland last year which I would prefer, but would go up North for this one.

I was in Portland last year getting tuned at Matrix. Shiv added an extra 20 whp from the base map during the tune. Same type of dyno @ Fame. Mustang 500 AWD dyno.

yeah, i have been busy getting everyones opinion on what they have and if they are satisfied with it. i am a avid car and driver reader, and they seem to write about shiv/vishnu almost monthly. nothing but good things are said, his involvement in the 1 lap (formerly cannonball) and his involvement in 24 hours at thunderhill (it actually turned into 6 hours at thunderhill, but whatever) regardless of what i decide like i said i would be excited to meet, and talk to him.

let's not forget the Vishnu Evo coming in second place in the Car and Driver "supercar shootout" against cars that were 2-4 times the cost of the Evo.

I hope Shiv would be able to do more than they did for me at FAME. Tim (is that his name?) managed to pull out an extra 5whp over the stage 1+ base map.

That dyno time is very expensive, I've dyno'ed at a few different places in CA and FAME is twice as much an hour as anyplace else I've been. Dyno time plus Shiv time could be pretty pricey, I'll have to think about it.

With all respect to Tim, he just doesn't see enough Evos to know all the fine points of tuning that car. Besides, he's got car repairs in his shop to worry about . Shiv tunes Evos, WRXs and STis almost exclusively. He know the cars like the back of his hand.
The more people we get, the cheaper avg cost of renting the dyno...

I don't want to make this a public forum about Tim, but he made no mistake that he knew EXACTLY what he was doing and cited your car as his example. He mentioned going to Portland to learn from Shiv, and when I asked him specifically about tuning my car he said he was all over it and nothing would surprise him.

He was very capable of running the dyno, but I felt I was paying part of his learning curve during the actual tuning process.
