evo meet today...
I meant to make it down to the meet today but got caught up in a project of turning my rear tail lights into the evo 7 style red lights. Took a while but I think they came out pretty good. I went to the model store and got some transparent red paint and painted the inside of the plastic to remove the altezza look. Also decided to remove the wing and just fill in the holes with black rubber grommets. I definitely like the new look and can easily put the wing back on when needed. I can already notice a lot less unwanted attention on the street. I'll post some pics soon.
If I decide to stay wingless I'd like to trade the whole wing and trunk as one piece for a trunk with no wing, preferably silver. If I keep any wing it'll be the stock one since it's a nice piece.

i've been wingless and had the VII tails for a year now... i love it. full unobstructed view of the rear, less attention from cops and ricers who'll rev on you just cause you have an evo.

Not the greatest pic, but it gives you the idea. Total cost for the lights was $26...I could have got away for it with less too since I bought extra materials.

A heat gun works wonders, and then used some goo-gone for the remaining residue. Did a quick clay bar afterwords and still have yet to wax the area, but it came out pretty clean.

michael, you already saw my wingless evo at the supermall meet. the tape can be stripped and the whole area buffed afterwards. black nylon plugs go into the holes but can be painted if desired. any leaks from the holes go on the inside gutter , not the trunk, so a watertight seal is not important.
