fender rolling

there was a thread on this about a year ago...no response. so here goes again.

Who in the PNW (seattle-portland) rolls fenders? Who rents the roller if it comes to that? baseball bat and a towel

it sounds easy, but im hesitant to bend anything that has been painted.

If you do it yourself, just make sure to use a heat gun to keep the paint from cracking.

In the back your paint will crack no matter what. When Robi (robispec.com) did my rears, he ground off the paint, and I repainted them afterwards using a spray can with color code matched paint. It was straight forward and you cannot tell unless you look very very closely. The front you don't have to roll - the aluminum is so soft just park the car in the sun for an hour, put on a pair off gloves (so you don't cut yourself) and gently pull them out along the rim (away from the car). They will bend like butter.

Back from the dead. Can you tell me more about the fender rolling? Where exactly did the paint crack? What tool if any was used. What size tire can you squeeze under there now? Thanks

Thanks for the info. Very helpful. Are you happy with the car? Anything that you would do different now that some time has gone past?

do a search..someone on here posted a while back that they rented the roller. you only had a day or 2 to do the job, but it was cheap to have him send it to ya and then return. didn't seem like he was making any money on the deal, just recouping the investment in the roller. looked like a pro-shop unit....

obviously he did a search considering he revived a 3 month old thread.

That would be too tall Matt. 17s would be a 40 series.
