NORTHWEST Evo owners please read
I am purchasing a TBE very soon. I am still trying to decide between the WORKS exhale and the Buschur TBE. I am leaning towards the Works. Does any body have The WORKS or BUSCHUR exhaust installed on thier Evo?? I really need to hear them before I can make my decision. I am looking at building a 375-400whp in the end but it will be my daily driver so I really don't want some rip-snortin, fart can exaust!
But I am hoping to find one with a deeper tone then stock!
Sound seems to be so subjective. I have seen every exhaust on the forums get rated as both the loudest and the quietest depending on the reviewer
I would Love to come check out one of your cars so I can hear before I purchase. I live in the Seattle area but I would be willing to drive whever in WA or even down to P-town.
Thanks for the help EvoM!

I have the Perrin turbo back, and love it. Its not tinny sounding, and has a deep tone to it. It also sticks out from the bumper a tad. That way it doesnt burn your rear bumper. I live in Salem, Oregon and can meet you in Portland on a weekend sometime if you would like.

James,
thank you very much for the offer. I come down there often and I may PM you ahead of time before I do! Thank you!
I like the WORKS exhaust. High quality, easy fitment, and they are closer to us (less shipping cost). The Buschur is going to be lighter and more straight through. Both will make roughly the same power. I have a UR exhaust and it's nice.
No problem. PM me if you are down here and would like to see and here the exhaust, I have no fitment problems. If it is on a Saturday, I can put it up on a hoist for you to see fitment also.

I thought you could add a 3in o2 housing to most 3in tbe's? Only reason people dont do it is because of the price of their piece. Anyways I have the Megan tbe, I know it may be cheap but it is 3in all the way through and I believe the sound is pretty decent.
I found a thread somewhere on EvoM that had sound and video clips....check under NorCal forum/threads....you'll know the page when you see it....its pics of the exhaust on the car and 3 different choices to hear it or see it.

I am kind of in the Northwest
Anyhow, I don't have any experience with the Buschur stuff, but his parts have a great reputation. I have mostly Works stuff on my car and all I can say is the quality and fit is second to none. The Works exhaust parts can bolt to the stock stuff and most aftermarket parts.
As far as power production goes, I would think both exhausts would be pretty close.
The only downside to Works parts is the price, they are very expensive when compared to Buschur's parts. But, if you are looking for a perfect fit and the best quality, Works is the way to go.

I have a combination of parts. Tanabe Ti Ultra Cat back, with perrin test pipe, and R-D Tanabe Downpipe. Of all the exhaust systems I've heard on the Evo, this rates up there.
Its very clean and deep. I'll be up in tacoma probably around 7 if you want to hear it.
Also someone is selling a really nice Vishnu Sig Series TBE. Very nice, I think it retails for over 1200, for 700.

I really want the downpipe section off it. If your willing to buy it ill give you 200+my tanabe downpipe for the Vishnu one.

I have rnr catback and helix downpipe/hf cat and love it. the rnr (not rmr) was a lot less than the buschur/works and came with the magnaflow option as well. laid out, it looks identical to the buschur, with just a slight bend to get the muffler in position. helix dpwnpipe isn't the best fit, as I had to hang the tie bars down with 2 small washers in each place, but I would HIGHLY recommend the rnr catback. save the cash for another upgrade
Just installed my Works ABM. I don't have the TB or the CB yet, but the Works muffler sounds pretty good. Not much louder then stock at idle, I can't tell the difference, but when I go wide open, then I know it doesn't sound like stock. It's not terrible loud, but a good grumble. I think it's more of the low tone sound that make it sound loud. I live in the Hillsboro, OR area, so if you wanna see just what the Works muffler sounds like, I'm more than happy to share.
