Going to California

It's sad, but I have given up on getting an Evo at invoice in Washington. South Coast Mitsubishi here I come!

I spoke with Dave at Mountain Mitsubishi. He's a real great guy and very honest. He told me that frankly there is a shortage of Evos in the NW and he told me (as Don did) that they weren't expecting more for 6 months! Regardless of whether this was a sales tactic, it basically forced my hand to look elsewhere. If the sales manager himself can't work a deal, no one can.

Unless there is some miracle in these next few days, I will be flying down to John Wayne Intl in Costa Mesa next Friday or Saturday to buy a new EB Evo IX! I am excited, but sad at the same time that I will immediately be placing over 1200 miles on my baby

Anyone know any cool scenic routes for part of the trip back up? Highway 1 looks pretty cool. I'm gonna try and do it in 3 days.

By the way, I still love Mountain Mitsubishi, despite the fact that we couldn't work out a deal. There is a great atmosphere there (none of the usual dealership "sleeziness"). Since they are an authorized Works distributor now, I may be buying things from them yet.

Anyway, I thought I'd let you guys know I'm excited to join your ranks! The desire for a new car overcame me, and I am buying much earlier than I thought, but you only live once, right?

I've heard good things about this highway. Which parts are the best, because I probably can't take the "scenic route" all the way back up.

I was thinking the redwood forest would be pretty tight.

Just got the invoice faxed to me from South Coast:
Out-the-door price for a brand-new (not even unwrapped) EB Evo IX is $30,220.56

I'm buying the ticket and putting down the deposit tomorrow

Take the route through southern cali, you will go through all the beach towns. If time is an issue get on I5 after you roll through the beach towns, and cut back over in Northern cali through oregon. You wont be disappointed. IMHO 101 is way a way better route than BORING I-5 the whole way up.

No, I pay $27,988 for the car + 7.75% salestax + $15 Temporary License Vehicle License + $45 Document Fee.

I pay $1,500 less than invoice and I don't have to pay the $595 Destination Fee, so really it is about $2,000 less than I would have to pay up here even if I could get one for invoice in Washington.
