moving from L.A. to Seattle

I am moving from Los Angeles to Seattle and am in the market for some new tires. Needless to say, Seattle gets much more rain than L.A., and I was wondering what kind of tires you guys use up there. I use my Evo as a daily driver, and I have never taken it to a racetrack. When shopping for new tires I try to balance value and performance, but I tend to lean more towards value. I loved the Advans that it came with, but I don't want to buy new tires every 10K miles. Any help would be appreciated.

p.s. If there already is a thread out there like this I apologize. I am new at this whole forum thing, I already did a search and couldn't find what I am looking for.

I live just south of seattle, and I love Michelin Pilot PS2 for daily driving. Good in the dry, very good in the rain. They have a bit of sidewall flex and aren't as percise as the advans, but I also have 15k miles on them and they still have about half of their life left. You can also get them at Costco for under 186 each mounted and balanced. I have a second set of wheels with some really chewed up advans for my trips to the track.

I've had good experience with the BF Goodrich KDW2's. They are pretty good in the rain and dry, actually last a fairly long time, and are not too expensive. Plus they have a unique tread pattern.

KDW2 are a great tire for a decent price. Mine seems to hold to the road very well when wet.

I think I have these, but my tread pattern doesnt look like that. I have no experience with any other tires so I dont know how it stacks up to others. I get sideways in the rain pretty easily though, but i'm sure all tires do that.

^you have the kdws I believe, and yes, you need new tires.

I run fulda quantum elites(made by goodyear, f1 shell) and they do faily well in the dry and wet. Not as direct as the advans, but extremely far more controllable in the wet and they don't wear like soft butter like the stockers do.
