ACT out and EXEDY TWIN IN :)

Well, after only 2500 miles i fried a act hdss. guys, if your running over 400 whp do not use the act. ive only got 150 miles on the exedy and all ready it shifts far better than the act. not to knock the act. it works well for mildly tuned cars. i went and did some quik spint shifts at 7600 rpm and all i can say is YA BABY !. no hint of hang up, lock out or grinding at all. as some of you know ive been plauqed with drive train issues since the gt35r went in and with only being able to shift at 6800-6900 rpms killed my 1/4 mile times. so, im heading to woodburn or pir next friday in hopes of a 11.5 and traps in the 122-125 range. anyway, i really like the exedy and will never go another route. it does make a little noise when the clutch is depressed but not all that bad. it kind of fits in with all the other little rattles and noises ill be contacting torque freaks to set up a meth kit in the next couple weeks and my mechanic is putting some arp rod bolts also. should be a fun car finally.

Its used though. Big flaw with it. No way over the net to tell if its in good shape or not.

I was looking at either the Exedy or the Cusco twin. But i got the ACT instead...stock clutch is fine for now but I didn't want it to break while I was saving for them so I got it here waiting for the stocker to kick the bucket

Yeah I have minor mods as well. As a daily driver I am aiming for 350whp and then when the car is option #2 to get to work (sometime in the future) then i'll go for 400 flat but considering how expensive a clutch install is (and no thats one of the many things on my car I will never attempt myself) I figured a "fire and forget" clutch like these twins would be fine.

Hey guys I had these same issues and actually thought of replacing my tranny until I did something very simple. I simply turned the clutch master rod all the way out, which brought the pedal extremely high, but it solved all my problems. I have over 100 launches on my ACT now, and it holds as solid as ever, even with 1.71 60ft times at 12.46.

You can get them between 1000 and 1200, if you shop around.
