That much could have been a change in the weather which alot of people I dont think fully take into account. Cars knock, thats why we have such a sophisticated knock control system.

Tuning for reliability with an Evo is a must, the car wont let you do it any other way it will just pull timing and be down on power. The people that blow them up are the ones that have done other things that they dont talk about like a boost controller malfuntion or bad install of this or that.
Yep which is what I alluded to in one of my posts above. People go and mess with the stuff after the fact and then blame the original tuner. Al did the DynoFlash for me back in Nov 2005, if I blow this engine with my own stuff I'll be first to say I did it, it was me .

Having someone else tune it would be an upgrade on its own compared to the Shiv tune.

Put it this way if you go read some of my posts when I first had a tune by him part of the V400 packaged but fully tuned on a dyno by him. It ran alright but the Mivec map was terrible and I threw a P0304 code about 4 or 5 times and it idled rough. Since being tuned by John my car is faster, idles better, never thrown a code, and has what most believe the best Mivec map available. Just some food for thought, plus I wouldn't mention Shiv in these parts...thats a bad conversation for most tuners

There is a reason that both him and another popular guy don't come up here anymore. Lots of bad stories if you know some of the older people around here to talk to.

Weird. My car runs perfect, no codes, idles perfect, etc. Boost is always 22-23 psi using the factory ebc. I'm not putting anyone else down though. Are there going to be any local dyno/tuning days?

*edit* My custom tune was back in Feb. 2006 I believe. My car is a late 2005 model. I only have ~7k miles on it but its ran exactly the same for those 7k miles.
