I'm thinking of another get together

As I was sitting on my *** today having probly the worst cold/feaver i think I have ever had, I got to thinking: Hey TLNW should have another get together. I had fun at the last one and John said they need pro active members. "

I also thought " gee it would be so cool to get toether like once a month and get some sort of formal sturcture to a meeting schedule"

Any thoughts on this? I'm just seeing what ya'll think cause I'd love to be the point on setting this kind of stuff.

When i was talking to John, he really put a bug up my *** about working hard to get TLNW to the point of "a force to be reckoned with" I really think we have the reasources and the grit to get it done.

Anyway, let me know cause i have nothing better to blab about here in in bed sick as a dog.

Sorry to hear you're sick, my man. And sorry I missed Sunday's show- I was also very sickly.
Monthly meeting are a good idea- that way if you miss a meeting you aren't stuck without a club GTG for several weeks or months. I know the "TLNW South" peeps were getting together pretty frequently near the end of summer, and some of the south folks drove up for a Juanita beach BBQ in August (?).
I'd like to see some meets that are just GTG- food, drinks, movies, video games and ****- a TLNW houseparty. And I'd like to see some TLNW GTG's that have a focus: car show prep (like Rick's last weekend), several people doing parts installs (like if several people wanted help with spring install or eManage or something like that) and of course an affordable track day would be cool. Maybe we can look into getting TLNW involved in next years road rally series with the NW Rally Council. http://www.teamhightower.com/nwrc/

Just some thoughts, but now I'm getting excited, too

It seems as though we be on the same page brother man. I'm definately down to see some more active TLNW north members getting down wit it. I mean off teh top of my head I know there are like 6 or 7 of us that I know about and I'm the new guy. Also John and I talked about the idea of having a rotation for teh meeting places. I thought about a 3 location rotation, one down south, one up north and one in the middle.

I think we should have a serious (ha like thats possible with us) meeting where we sit down and actually write some of this down and try to put it all on paper. Maybe try and do it soon so we can be ready for teh Spring/ Summer show season?

I think there are a lot of good ideas out there and it's kinda hard to always be posting them up here. Plus good ideas always feed off each other so it might be benefical to meet in a more face to face setting. It will also help if we have nothing else to do during this time so we wont have to worry about cleaning cars or doing installs etc etc.

Anyway, theres my daily rant. Let me know.

yeah thats cool. Structured meetings would be a good idea. Then more people could join.....some people cant make it to the spur of the moment bbqs, even though they rock, and this would give them some fair warning to our next get togethers, GOOD IDEA DUSTIN~!!!!!!!!

Sorry for not having more time to even be online, much less time to get on the forum, everyone. I told y'all that once classes started up I'm gonna have serious time constraints!

But anyway, I'm very, very, very, very, very, very happy to see plans being made and I like them. As Dustin and I (and it's Jon, not John ) were talking about after dinner last time, I think it's time we started thinking about structuring the club more. Yes we have a working set of rules and regulations, but I think we can afford to make an official set.

Same goes for structuring club members also. Like we were talking about, it will only benefit us in the long run to have designated members in place such as a VP, Treasurer, Mascot, etc. That will definitely help keep things streamlined as far as when we need major things taken care of, which is what we look to be gearing for in the next few months with t-shirt designs (thanks to Alli, Lizette, and crew for offering to help!), website design (aren't we all tired of it still being under construction?), and also getting ready as a club for next show season.

This is some of the pressing things I think we'll need to discuss at the next gtg whenever that may be. As far as location, I'm down for wherever you guys wanna have it. I definitely want to take a break from up north since Rick just got done hosting so many of us at his place - that's appreciated very much, man, and you know it. Let's see what our meeting place options are and we can go from there.

My weekends are usually clear, just that you'll see me doing homework when I have free time. Gotta love it. Anyway, I gotta get moving as usual, but I'll be sure to check to see how things are coming along. Can't wait to see everyone again, and I can't wait to keep heading in the direction we're heading!

ok sorry for the name goof, I'll blame that on being sick. but i think i'll still call you john anyway, jk.

Anyway, I need some warning if the gtg is gonna be in the south end but if we are going to that Korum thing then we can do it then? It would be best to do the 'Tuner Show' on saturday and then gtg on Sunday to lay down some ideas on paper etc.etc. Besides, if we win the $750, we'll have a lot to be talking about and a new treasurer to elect hella quick. lol

At the risk of sounding cheesy, It seems to me if there ever is going to be a time or group of people to get this done I think its gonna be now and us.

Take it easy,

Dustin

I think we should definitely have at least one gtg before the show. A few things we need to discuss will be our new club officers - we had good discussions this week and I'd like for more of us to discuss possible candidates - and our involvement in the Korum show.

Regarding the show, I'm trying to get hard facts regarding the show and what do you think of using that prize money, if one of our club members wins it, to let that be the start of our club funds?
