I'd say it's worth whatever he can sell it for. G/L finding a buyer with that sticker price.

I think its funny how Evo owner's will say a suby thats got a ton of mods isn't worth anything but a Evo with a ton of mods is worth a **** pile of money. Now Ive been a evo owner since the very beginning of evo's in the U.S. Don't get me wrong I love my evo's but it seems that very few owner's on these forums really know what a car is worth! You take some of these High dollar modded evo's for sale here and put them anywhere else and you might as well take off 30 or 40%. Just my thoughts...

I think most Evo people (those that I know personally anyway) would look at a 15 year old Mitsubishi with a full 4G63 with all the trimmings about the same way. Someone made a good point earlier though, people think they will get out of it what they put in. This applies to everything such as cars, houses, etc.

When I sold my first house I knew what I could sell it for, but I would sit on the market and hope things didn't get worse (which they in fact did). I went well under the market value but after 2 weeks when all I received were people that talked about buying, but no actual buyers, I dropped another $5k. It sold in 3 weeks in this current economy we are in.

It doesn't matter that I put a lot of work into the house, or I got new carpets, or I dropped money here and there for various upgrades. What matters is that I wasn't emotionally attached to some shot in the dark figure counting all of that stuff and I just wanted the house sold!

Because that Suby is 15 years old, the oldest Evo here is 2003, which is only 7 years old. (Unless you have a Evo 7 or something, which didn't come to the US) Half the age of that Suby. The "Oldness" of the vehicle is what seriously depreciates the vehicle along with the miles.

Its worth it if you wanted to replicate it but are lazy and dont want to do the work. You can 20k out of a 45k 2G You just gotta work for it.

The 2.5/6 speed swap used to go for as much as 7500, a clean GC8 shell is worth 10k, this one has big brakes all around (3500-4k), upgraded injectors, E85, work to the intake manifold, a green, JDM STi body panels, full STi interior, etc. Its there in the parts pretty quick when you look for it. We sell 1Gs for 10k in race trim that have probably 15-16k in them, anything is possible if the right person is looking for it at the right time.

A car is only worth what someone will pay for it.

Trust me... I'm a fourth generation used car salesman. They call me "fairly honest Ernie"
