Oil Change...?

Yo, So I'm headed back home from college (WSU, Pullman) and last time I got my oil change was in August around 38,000 miles and I'm around 40,000 miles to date ( I don't drive my car that much when at school). Is it safe to say that I can drive the 6 hour trip back home (~ 360 miles) without changing the oil, even though the oil is about 8-9 months old? Or just play it safe and change it? I just want to find out if I REALLY need to, cause I would like to avoid the hassle of going around asking for tools and equipment, or do it after the trip. Sorry for a nooobish question.

Oh last time I checked It was still around full, but not too sure about the color..

It should be fine, even with 8 mo, it's still only 2k on the oil. Plus the 360's all highway anyway.

i recommend you dont push it too hard, i had a motor die from a similar situation. about 10 months on the oil but, only like 1500 miles. might've been a fluke... never know

I'd definitely check the level before heading out, but you should be fine.

You won't see catastrophic failure immediately and you'll get by this time, but you probably don't want to make it a habit.

My oil only had a couple thousand miles on it. When I drained it yesterday, it was definitely time for a change.
