you're pretty much stuck paying the tax in WA
however, if you happen to have a trade-in .... you get to deduct that value from the taxable amount.
so if you buy a 35k car, and trade in your 20k car, you pay tax on 15k (instead of 35k)... which would 'save' you about $1900. Of course the dealers know this also, so they jack you for the $1900 on the sticker :P
