well, my car has been in the shop since mid oct. some idiot ran a stop sign and took of my from end and did damages to the hood also, also something about a new radiator support. i'm still waiting on the parts. the manager told me that the parts are hard to get, and that the evo is a speacial kind of car. what kind of B***SH** is that! are the part really that hard to get. that insurance already approved it like 2 months ago. just needed some inputs.

I think they are srewing you. Go get your car fix it yourself and pay yourself the insurance money. lmfao

Evogelion Dec 2, 2006 04:31 PM

I'm sure anyone can help you out unless its frame damage

tripperfx3 Dec 2, 2006 04:36 PM

Yea... They are jerking you around... I work in a Toyota dealership and they almost always have body panels for every car they sell. Even older/rarier stuff like supras and MR2's. If they get a non toyota car they get the parts normally in around 3 days max. If you have a decently sized mitsu dealership nearby the body shop should have had the parts a while ago. Also make sure they are using geninue mitsu parts and not that cheap keystone crap! All that is is cheap THIN sheet metal crap. If i were you id take the car out of the body shop its at and put it in another one.

^^ Ditto and whos the shop so we know not to go there? I know Colin had some issues with a local shop and his work as well.

all this happened at aki's body shop up in ballard. i'm gonna ask them to print out an invoice of what was ordered, and take it to another shop and see how soon they can get the parts in. also there was no frame damaged. anyone know a good shop in the area?

definately pull your car outta the shop it's in now, you are definately getting dicked around dude. i also had to have some minor body work done to my car, another dumbass ran a light and hit the back end of my car so i had to have the back quarter panel replaced as well as the taillight. it only took them about a week or two and it was done and when i got my car back it looked great! the name of the shop is west coast collision center, the phone number is 425-774-9222. it's located in mount lake terrance. ask to talk to jeff stoneman. the work he did on my car was awesome, it's like nothing ever happened. i highly recommend taking your car over to him to have the work done.

I have worked on a lot of Evo's. A few parts are a little hard to get, but not that hard. The core support is the same as the lancer. So, it is one of the easiest parts to get. I agree with everyone else, pull it out of that shop and take it some where more reputable.

Aki's service has gone down the hole in the past couple of years. They wouldn't pay up for work done to their cars (my dad and uncle are locksmiths) and I had to threaten them with a lawsuit to get a check. Try Premier Autobody down in the Southcenter/Tukwila area. They do a very good job although it does take a little longer because of the amount of cars coming in. You could also try ARA Collision in North Seattle as they also do a wonderful job on cars. There's also Precision Collision in Bellevue.

On topic though, my Evo got rear-ended and they had to replace the entire backside. It took less than a week to get a full exhaust, lower control arm, bumper, trunk lid, spoiler and a pair of tailights. My car had $7200 in damage and it took 4 weeks to get repaired, repainted and back to me. The shop your car is at is taking you for a ride. Go get your car and take it elsewhere immediately!

I'm not positive on the Evo, but I have some friends that run a repair shop that does a lot of different makes of cars. Mitsubishi however, can be very difficult to get the right parts for. Many items like fenders they have a tendency to change bolt mounting locations just enough to make it to the point of requiring a VIN number just to get the proper matching fender when trying to order . They even have been known to change them at 1/2 year intervals.
