quick review of the 2014 outlander GT S-AWC

I got a chance today to drive the 2014 outlander GT with the V6 engine. fit and finish is well made. the design is unique and it sports the front hid headlights and rear led tail lamps. it is fully optioned and has a third row good for two passengers. the leather(?) didn't looked liked leather but the rep assured me it was leather. the nav/sat radio/info unit is topnotch and has all the features of current 2013-2014 model vehicles whether upmarket or its competitor(RAV4, Forester, CRV)

You can press the touch screen unit select all the settings. nav, vehicle info, equalizer modes, etc. it is one well made unit.

For a crossover in this price range, it comes with lane departure warning beep, and the coolest feature is the forward collision mitigation system in the adaptive cruise control. I turned it on and adjusted the distance then just follow the vehicle in front and it slows itself down as the vehicle infront slows. This feature is usually present as an option in the S-class MB.

Engine is the 3.0L V6 with 224 hp and 215 lb-ft of torque. The GT comes with the paddle shifter 6 speed auto tranny. It has an eco button for fuel savings. 20/28 rating.

This is a step up in the right direction in making strides of producing really competitive crossovers in this price segment.

4/5 rating. will I buy one? yes!

word to Mitsubishi-keep the eclipse and evolution series alive

Funny, they dropped couple HP from 2010-2013 V6 (was 230).
Feature-wise it is cool, but the look of prev gen is so Evo-ish

Imagine Evo XI could be that ugly?
