2004 Outlander 4G69 really high idle

Been having some electrical issues. Finally refused to start thursday morning without a boost. Pulled battery thursday night to have it tested and results were still good. Suspected alternator anyways and replaced it today. Got it all back together put battery back in turned the key and it started without any drama... but then started idling at 3000rpm peaking to 3500rpm.

I snooped around a bit and found references to idle reset procedure letting idle for a while and I uncomfortably let it idle like that for a while and it never went lower than ~2750rpm even settling at 3500rpm for a while.

Most of those idle reset posts mention a rough idle and let it sit for 15 minutes but this isn't rough, it's super smooth and consistent just really high.

In case it is relevant... having taken from the 1 gen RA lancers some minor engine modifications
-25% RRM UDP
-Weapon-R SRI
-6G75 TB

Would be nice to sort this out. Someone suggested putting it into gear but I know at 3000rpm even with the brake floored the drivetrain, torque converter and brakes are going to have an interesting fight.

Ok I managed to bump the throttle cable out of the holder when i swapped the alternator. Was emulating having the pedal partially pressed.
