Lightbulb TV Tuners

Anyone have experience with TV Tuners for cars? I've always dreamed of having a TV tuner in my car for years, and now that I have more DIY experience, I think I'm ready to tackle this one. I can't seem to find any brand name, reliable companies that makes mobile TV tuners though. I have vaguely seen maybe 1 or two ATSC/Digital tuners that work great at highway speeds, but have no idea what brand/name or who sells them.

Wouldn't you guys like to see live tv in my Outlander Sport?!

I have a digital terrestrial broadcast antenna for my home, and I barely watch it. The channels are mostly useless, and the regular networks play crap 90% of the day.

Having legit TV broadcast to your car would be awesome, but IMO it would not be worth it for just local broadcasting. I know they DO make mobile satellite TV units, but I think those are rather bulky... A mobile data hotspot and stream Hulu/Amazon Prime/Netflix would be cool

THIS is the antenna I have. Reception and quality is excellent, it's just the shows that suck lol. In the instructions it referenced "use in vehicles", but IIRC it said it should be removed before driving the vehicle.

THIS looks like it would work for you though...

DirecTV has a tuner package that fits under a front seat. I was going to buy one for my Town & Country in 05 but i was in Hawaii. No satellite coverage.

What a shame!
It would have been nice - having DirectTV in the T&C - checking out some nice NFL action while cruising the Mamalahoa...

Wes,
Not sure if your headunit has USB port but something like this may work in a mobile environment >

It has to be a tv tuner made for moving vehicles. I found better results using the keywords ATSC CAR in my searches

The PowerAcoustic model looks promising. You don't have to permanently mount the antennas, so it would be non-invasive to the vehicle.

Thanks for the replies but I have found the magic letters that gives me the best result to match my requirements!

ATSC M/H

M/H are signals specifically for mobile tv tuners so you can continue to stream flawlessly while on the move!

I have narrowed it down to this BOYO kit which had decent reviews on amazon and it is also highly recommended that you get a separate antenna that has it's own power source for better signal.
