Cold Weather Braking Noise
Cold Weather Braking Noise
Since the cold temps around here, I noticed this type of noise when I drive first thing in the morning...
it only happens in the cold weather. After the car is driven (warmed up) for a min or 2, the noise is gone..
Any ideas?

One thing comes to mind -
Your Caliper bolts. One of them could be just slightly loose leading to this problem. (It "resolves" itself only after the brakes heats up and the bolt(s) tightens up...)
> To confirm & fix this possible problem - It will involve you jacking up your vehicle (follow safety procedures!) and checking the bolts manually on each bolt after you removed your wheel(s). You need to have/use a torque wrench to properly torque down the bolts TO your specified ft.lbs. for your vehicle.

Just to clarify, you're having the same issue as that Kia driver on your Outlander Sport? Or do you also own a Kia?
Either way, as a "brand new" vehicle, it should be running perfect. If it were my vehicle, I would park it and call
roadside assistance and have it towed to the nearest dealer for warranty repair. Not worth the risk of the braking system failing while you're driving it there.

Hmm..
Burton, good catch.
I didn't even bother to clarify if he is having the problem on his OS or some other car or just referencing something that may sound like his problem.

That happens to me every once in a while after washing the OS. My educated guess is a layer of water or ice on the break discs that evaporates once they get hot enough, and once that happens the noise disappears.
