Brembo Brakes for the O.S.

I contacted Eric, better known as NFSLancerRA on evom, the guy that made the BBK for the ralliart lancers, and asked if he would be willing to make a set of brackets to fit the Outlander Sport so we could use the EVOX OEM Brembo calipers as a straight bolt on upgrade and this is what he had to say:

Travis,

I would be willing to bet that it is possible to use Evo IX front calipers and Evo X front rotors.
As long as the rear hub is identical to that of the Ralliart/Endeavor, then that is more or less a bolt-on upgrade for the X setup in the rear.

If you know someone in Florida (Orlando area) who wants to have brackets made (and has all of the parts), then send him or her my way. I can make that happen.

-Eric

Any takers in the Florida area???

Travis,

I have not made any progress on this project. There doesn't seem to be much interest.

-Eric

Come on guys make you voices heard, please let Eric know that I am not the only one that would want a BBK for the outlander Sport!

So, did Eric mention anything about possible price of the brackets?

not yet I emailed him back asking what the brackets would run. So hopefully he can give me an idea.

And from what he is saying the rears will not need the brackets only the fronts. They may possibly be direct bolt on with the evo X rotors.

It will entirely depend on what you want them made out of.

What needs to happen next is someone needs to confirm that the hubs/spindles in the front are different from those on the Ralliart. If they are not, then you can just use Drew's RA BBK. That is a 6-piston caliper that is better suited for this car.

I see.
What are the choices in materials available? And, what would be the most cost effective?

pricing for the front brackets will be determined on the cost of labor and materials used to make the brackets, which will be determined if and when they can be made.

and if the hubs/spindles are the same as the Ralliart, then it looks like just a grinding modification to the stock EVOX calipers will work just fine, fingers X'ed

well I have listed the brake for sale with no bites and put them on Ebay as well today, then I was board so I started surfing the net again and found out this little bit of information...

The stock Rotor sizes for the O.S., Evo IX and EVO X goes something like this...

Outlander Sport:
Front OEM rotor size is 295mm or 11.61"
Rear OEM rotor size is 302mm 11.89"

EVO IX:
Front OEM rotor size is 320mm or 12.59"
Rear OEM rotor size is 302mm 11.89"

EVO X:
Front OEM rotor size is 350mm or 13.77"
Rear OEM rotor size is 327mm or 12.9"

So, what I have found out is that the EVO IX rears are the same height as the O.S. so my stock EVO 9 Brembo rear rotors (only have 15k miles on them) should work well as far as clearance on the dust cover of the O.S., but as far as the front brembo EVO 9 rotors go they are .7" larger not sure it is enough height for the EVO X caliper being is that it has higher stems for a larger rotor... thinking the combo of a set of EVOX rotors being that they are 13.7" almost 2" taller than the stock O.S. rotors may be needed but with out any way to mount it up or a the fitment test, I will not be sure.

If the brakes don't sell I may say F it I have them and the EVO 9 rotors on hand and I may try and see if I can get them to work.

I hope this can help anyone that is also thinking of under going a EVOX BBK for the O.S.

Hope this gets something going for all you OS guys, but I'm currently doing a BBK on Sonata by using some after market 2010-2014 Kia Optima slotted rotors and some 2003-2005 Hyundai XG350 calipers. Same bolt pattern at the OS (and Sonata obviously) but the XG350 Calipers are a twin piston design. Calipers I'm using come with brackets, so it may be something that you could mod (bolt location) and make work.
They are by Cardone (reman) and are part #'s 19B2914 and 2915.
Another Optima turbo member said they are a real Show Stopper. lol

I know this platform aint gonna pull 12-13 sec. 1/4's but it sure couldn't hurt to add some braking power. Hope this helps.
