Oil Change OS 2.4 GT
Just an FYI -
the 2.4L does not use the same filter as the 2.0L. it uses #mz690116 i found this out because today i went to walmart to buy mobile 1 synthetic oil and a filter.. All of their catalogs are FRAM so i purchased the TG7317 since thats what the catalog stated i needed for the 2015 OS GT 2.4L. after draining the oil and removing the filter, i realized it was wrong.. Then i started searching the internet and through all of the brands of filters to see what fit the OS 2.4L. https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.evo...27b6585656.jpg I then had to wait until my significant other comes home so that we can go to the autoparts store. They were stumped too. When they pulled up my car model information, the OS 2.0 and 2.4 had all the same oil filters. Luckily i brought in my original filter and they were able to cross reference the part number and we found the right filter. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.evo...27b6585656.jpg |
good to know - i hadn't thought of the fact that the parts store "lookups" would screw up the 2.0/2.4 engines. more B.S. i need to remember ....
my other car comes in coupe/sedan/convertible ... AWD/RWD ... and in slightly different variations over the years. you need to do major research before attempting anything! |

Woah.. That's why I prefer to do my own oil (and spark plugs) changes myself. |
