thanks Ted!
i was wondering since i have already order a set of cosworth cams, since i couldnt find any Jun cams anywhere.

NocturnalEVO May 24, 2006 01:06 PM

Reading through the thread, i'm contemplating getting a jun 264 exhaust cam on my IX. But will that not be good for my stock turbo?

Ted B May 24, 2006 01:21 PM

It won't be good for your stock valvesprings.

NocturnalEVO May 24, 2006 01:24 PM

sorry forgot to add that, i will be going w/upgraded valvesprings.

If you read the Cosworth data sheet correctly, you will notice it says duration 200deg @ 0.05" = 1.27mm, so A LOT milder then most if not all the aftermarket cams available ;)

Ted B Jun 4, 2006 06:00 PM

That is correct, but keep in mind that 11.0mm of lift with relatively short duration makes for an aggressive ramp profile, so a valvespring upgrade is recommended.

trinydex Jun 14, 2006 06:05 PM

HKS 280
Duration: 222 deg @ 1mm lift Int / Exh
Lift: 10.8mm Int / 10.2mm Exh
Lobe Centerlines: 110 Int / 110 Exh

Revolver 262/264
Duration: 222 @ 1mm Int / 223 @ 1mm Exh
Lift: 11.4mm Int / 11.5mm Exh
LobeCenterlines: 109 Int / 111 Exh

JUN 272:
Duration: 235 deg @ 1mm Int / Exh
Lift: 10.8mm Int / Exh

Lobe Centerlines: 110 Int / 115 Exh

Cossie

200deg @ 0.05" = 1.27mm

this would prolly put them closer to the 272s... which means you need to tighten to lsa to make thumpy hp.

trinydex Jun 16, 2006 02:23 AM

btw any developements with the 264 test? any effective 264 duration numbers?

saiyanzzrage Jun 16, 2006 06:05 AM

jun rocks

AMS,
I just ordered a stroker kit from you and i was wondering what your thoughts would be with swapping over to the JUN 272's from the HKS 272's with my setup? I have the 2,3 stroker, 3 angle valve job, titanium lifters springs retainers all that good stuff, 20g9 and all supporting mods I would need. I am running aem ems so Idle will not be a problem. But do you think I will benifit from these cams enough to justify the change?

/\ I am wondering if its worth swapping out my cams in my sig as well. Really would like to squeeze out some more power of my setup.

Any thoughts AMS is Juns should be in my future, or maybe someting less aggressive but still hotter than the hks like the Revolvers? Such decisions..........

Ted B Jun 21, 2006 07:25 AM

They should offer some increased potential until you run out of turbo.

evoracer32 Jun 21, 2006 09:25 PM

Im currently at 510whp with the hks 272s and im wondering wich cams i should upgrade to and will give me the best all around powerband, im inbetween either the cossies, the juns, or the revolvers

im sure you will benefit some from the cams but i dont think it will be all that significant on that turbo unless you are running some meaty boost at it.

with the W/R on your car I would stick with what you have. Those are GREAT numbers for that setup.
