Gents,

As a test I am running a E7 ecu in my E6 with the Tephra 90550701 V7 rom. ALS tables are in my xml and setup the same is in my original E6 ecu, did swap pin 6 to pin 53 in order to have working ALS/SAS. However ALS/SAS does not seem to activate, even the logs show that fuel (inj duty) is shut down 1 sec after throttle release. When I apply a ground to pin 53 on idle the solenoid activates and the car starts to hunt so my hardware is still working properly.

Can it be that there is no ALS/SAS routine in the Tephra 90550701 V7 rom?

Anyone else who has ALS/SAS working on the Tephra 90550701 V7 rom?

Thanks in advance,

Roy

Be sure also if ECU hardware have ALS mosfet... if ECu is from GSR or RS2 the mosfet is missing...

Also on Merlin's tuning guide there are a list of roms running ALS routines, check it!

Can this MOSFET be easiliy added with some soldering skills? I think its a E7 JDM ECU: Casenr: MR560468

ROM id = 90550701 which is created from 90550001 and according to Merlins's tuning guide this should have the ALS tables and Routines working. Do you have anymore info on the MOSFET, where to find it on the PCB and the type maybe?

Interesting..

I run the Evo 7 4 plug ECU (90550701 Rom) in my Evo 3 & even with the ALS setup, i don't really get many pops and bangs (occasionally one when I lift off), it immediately cuts fuel on decel. I just figured for road car ECU's that's all you got!

Ive tried retarding timing and adding fuel in low load high rpm cells, but it didn't make much difference. I get a little bit of rumbling if I gently crack the throttle open on decel, which switches the injectors back on.

Yet, on a friends evo 8, when I retarded the timing and added fuel in his standard ROM, the thing practically sounded like a rally car on decel! And he doesn't even have any ALS hardware.

Well, on the E6 ecu the ALS settings make it like that that the fuel keeps flowing for the amount of time you have set it up to. It seems that none of this is working (at least not on the E7 ecu MR560468) with 90550701 Rom, and I am leaning more and more towards it being the pcb of the ecu itself.

About your friends evo 8: It might be that his fuel cut on decel parameters are set differently hence why the fuel is flowing longer

I have all of the Evo 3 Secondary Air System hardware (Solenoid, bypass valve, vacuum tank, drilled out banjo bolt with 4 holes for maximum airflow, cleaned out the passages in the head when I did the engine rebuild), and it's always behaved like that. It cuts the fuel off on decel as it usually would, even with those ALS settings set up correctly as per the different forum threads. It basically ignores the ALS code (for the fueling anyway, I've never actually confirmed if the ECU is opening the SAS valve).

So it's still either the ROM or the PCB itself (missing the mosfet as just stated by Floppyz).

I can confirm that the ecu is not opening the SAS valve otherwise I would have noticed, the fact that it isn't flowing fuel either is indicating that the subroutine doesn't do its job either as it should keep the injectors open when the parameters are met.

Fair enough. Maybe I should set my gopro up in the engine bay and see if the valve is opening on mine!
If it's not doing the fueling, I doubt it's doing the air either.

Ive never heard of this mysterious MOSFET though.. And googling it brings up zilch.

Same issue here, can't find anything about missing MOSFET's for ALS/SAS hopefully someone else on here can shine a light on it please.

I'm doubtful its a thing, unlikely its never been discussed on here over the last 15 odd years.. Probably just the ROM being not quite perfect because 90550701 didn't get as much 'attention' as the Evo 8/9 ROMS.

Might be yes, hopefully someone can approve that, I need to check in IDA as well if the subroutine is called anyway. Maybe it's just a simple fix. Let's wait if some more expierenced person can shine a light on this.

I have a spare lancer ECU which is basically the same as my Evo 8 ecu except there are a bunch of missing transistors and the fuel / A/C circuit are reversed. If you tell me what ECU pin should be controlling the SAS I can trace them back and find out where the FET should be. It won't just be a missing FET though, all the support circuitry for driving it and for OBD diagnostics will also be missing.
